Project Interface Lead

Job Purpose:
Report to the Project Manager to strategize, coordinate, and integrate the project team for EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning) project management.
Ensure cost-effective, timely solutions and apply win-win strategies for all related parties throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Task Management: Organize, control, and report on specific tasks/interfaces, including:
Engineering Contractors (Marine, Topsides & Riser, and Mooring)
DNVGL Classification Societies
Shipyard Construction Team
Vendors
Contractors
Communication: Ensure effective communication across internal project members for timely information exchange.
Decision Making: Delegate tasks to enable quick, well-informed decisions while maintaining control.
Support: Assist the Construction Team in focusing on project objectives.
Objective Cascade: Communicate project objectives/targets to the team and ensure understanding.
Issue Resolution: Coordinate the resolution of issues and ensure the Management of Change process is followed.
Organizational Perspective:
Reporting: Regularly report key information to the Project Manager.
Corrective Actions: Ensure corrective actions are in place.
Meeting Coordination: Review and follow up on actions from various meetings, including:
Project Progress Meetings with Shipyard
Engineering Progress Meetings
Client Progress Meetings
Classification Society Meetings
Technical Queries
Hold Register
Verifying AFC from Detail Engineering and IFC for Fabrication Engineering with the latest information from vendors and contractors.
Principal Accountabilities:
Lead the implementation and timely completion of specific tasks in accordance with contractual and internal requirements.
Ensure delivery of tasks related to Interface Management, Delivery Management, Area Management, or Change Management.
Resolve differences between project, engineering, and operation teams to minimize impact on asset productivity and deliverables.
Maintain efficient and clear records of all interface information related to the project.
Manage and ensure efficient integration between existing systems and new conversion requirements.
Identify and analyze root causes of project engineering and asset operational problems, incidents, or accidents, and recommend effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment):
Uphold company safety rules and policies.
Ensure project HSE targets are achieved.
Promote best practices to the PMT and contractors through meetings, toolbox discussions, visits, walkabouts, etc.
Performance Indicators: Number of observation cards, attendance at safety walkabouts, no LTIs related to own discipline.
QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control):
Coordinate with the QAQC site team.
Ensure mechanical works are closely controlled by QAQC.
Ensure works are carried out as per the latest drawings.
Coordinate with QAQC to follow the construction schedule.
Ensure all equipment vendor requirements are met.
Performance Indicators: Number of inspections missed, delays due to poor coordination.
Construction Management:
Supervision: Oversee the team on all design and design changes for mechanical packages.
Feedback: Provide feedback to the Construction Lead regarding constructability and schedule.
Compliance: Ensure the team and yard teams are fully aware of and strictly follow vendor installation requirements.
Coordination: Supervise interface with other disciplines for optimal work sequence.
Daily Activities: Manage the discipline team for day-to-day activities.
Site Instructions: Control all site instructions for own discipline or those impacting own disciplines.
Completion Forms: Manage job completion forms.
Mechanical Completion: Supervise Mechanical Completion (ITRs A) for mechanical equipment.
Interdisciplinary Management: Collaborate with other disciplines (piping, structure, E&I) to achieve mechanical completion.
Vendor Management: Manage vendor service engineers on-site as necessary, liaising with the package engineer.
Timeliness: Ensure tasks are completed based on the construction schedule.
Nonconformances: Monitor and address nonconformances for own discipline.
Reports and Meetings:
Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report yard progress and production indicators for own discipline to the Construction Lead.
Scheduling: Report on the schedule and lookahead, alerting to any schedule slippages.
Site Instructions: Assist in managing site instructions for own discipline.
Progress Reports: Report and comment on yard progress reports.
Daily VSCC Participation: Participate in daily VSCC meetings.
Production Indicators: Monitor production indicators (manpower, installed equipment, etc.).
Team Coordination: Participate in team coordination meetings.
Progress Reporting: Report on progress for own discipline, including issues and proposed solutions.
Timeliness: Ensure timely reporting and meeting attendance.

FPSO Knowledge: Familiarity with FPSO operations.
Brazilian FPSOs: Awareness of specific requirements for Brazilian FPSOs (plus point).
Language Skills: Proficiency in English (mandatory).

Teamwork: Ability to assist and supervise a team, coordinate with other teams, and seek the overall best for the project. Work effectively with yard/contractors.
Execution: Drive execution to mechanical completion.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project interface role for FPSO hull conversion projects.
Experience in a project interface role for at least 2 major FSO hulls or 1 major FPSO (hull conversion size up to 10,000 DWT).
Supervision experience for at least 2 major FSO hull interfaces or 1 major FPSO, managing project and construction interfaces for all disciplines until mechanical completion.
Preferably, a minimum of 2 years working experience in China.
Good understanding of international shipyards is preferable and an added value.
Strong understanding of schedule and resource planning.
Fundamental understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in the oil and gas industry.
Qualification:
Minimum Degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent.
