Job Title: Project Controller/Project Lead – Aerospace Procurement

Working Pattern : Full Time

Working location: i.e. Bristol/Derby/Hybrid

In Aerospace Procurement we are bring together Strategic Procurement and Supplier Management teams into a single organisation for our Civil Aerospace and Defence businesses. Together we are investing in and developing our rules, tools and processes to deliver world-class performance and Procurement and Supply Chain Excellence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller / Project Lead to play an important role in supporting our digital transformation of the Portfolio office.

This role will be responsible for the control of project performance status and insights across a broad project portfolio of Defence, Civil, Product Introduction and Supply Chain projects, using a digital toolset, including BusinessMap (Kanbanize) and Power BI.

This role will assist the Portfolio executive team in ensuring customer issues are identified, prioritised, and addressed across a broad range of ship classes and equipment types.

In this Project Controller / Project Lead role you will develop a digital toolset to assist the Aerospace Procurement Portfolio executive team in ensuring clear and transparent identification of customer issues to enable prioritisation and action planning to optimise the portfolio outcomes.

The role will be within the Aerospace Procurement Portfolio Team, supporting the Procurement categories with standardised rules, tools and reports to deliver Transfers, Reactivations and Product Introduction packages on time and within budget.

The role will give the successful candidate a broad understanding of the Aerospace Procurement organisation, as well as exposure to the Defence and Civil Aerospace organisations. It will also provide an opportunity to further develop the individual’s Programme Management and Digital capabilities within a varied and fast moving environment.

What you will be doing

Develop and maintain project workflow management toolsets for the portfolio, using BusinessMap (Kanbanize).Develop and maintain project performance visualisations and reporting dashboards, using PowerBI.Report the status of projects / project portfolios in accordance with the requirements of the portfolio office.Manage and report portfolio insights, such as baseline variance and hazards to critical success factors by maintaining live project Key Performance Indicators.Review project data, identify and report trends, highlight anomalies and propose corrective action if performance is outside specification.Ensure effective controls are implemented in accordance with the company management procedures to achieve the portfolio objectives.Accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders.Facilitated and manage risk and opportunity activities.

Key Experience and Qualifications:

Degree level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience.Member of a professional body and working towards a APMP qualification or equivalent.At least 1 year experience in a relevant discipline, preferably on project work.Working towards APMP / PMI qualification or equivalent (or assessed as possessing equivalent knowledge / experience to the same standard).Experience in the development and / or implementation of project management processes and lifecycle, and a good knowledge of project control processes.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in Supply Chain Management or Procurement working environment.Demonstrated capability with program management tools such as MS Project or P6.Demonstrated capability with digital workflow management and visualisation toos such as BusinessMap (Kanbanize) and PowerBI.
