Job Description

Job Title: Project Lead - Submarine Enterprise Collaborative Hub (Submarine Delivery Enterprise)

Working Pattern : Full-time – 37 hours – Approx. 60/40 Onsite/Remote

Working location: Bristol/Hybrid

Do you want to have an impact on the future of UK defence? Do you enjoy developing knowledge of complex systems; how networks of people, processes, assets and data intersect to deliver outcomes? Does curiosity lead you to find insights and drive improvements, from the incremental to the more radical?

If so, now is the time to join Rolls-Royce Submarines. Working with our customer, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), and a broader network of industrial partners, we are on a mission to advance the UK’s submarine programme; diagnosing enterprise challenges and working together to deliver some of the most exciting and complicated engineering on the planet.

Why Rolls-Royce?

Rolls-Royce is one of the most enduring and iconic brands in the world and has been at the forefront of innovation for over a century. We design, build and service systems that provide critical power to customers where safety and reliability are paramount.

We are proud to be a force for progress, powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

We want to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that has shaped our history continues into our future and we need people like you to come and join us on this journey.

Join us as a Project Lead in the Submarine Enterprise Collaborative Hub as part of Rolls-Royce Submarines’ Services Business and you will uncover a unique opportunity to work with wide-ranging stakeholders, drawing on submarine programme knowledge, data, and information from diverse sources to deliver integrated portfolio performance assessments and thought leading insights.

We’ll provide an environment of caring and belonging where you can be yourself. An inclusive, innovative culture that invests in you, gives you access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities where you can grow your career and make a difference.

In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to work alongside multiple organisations as part of the Submarine Delivery Enterprise (SDE). The SDE is tasked with collaboratively identifying levers to enhance UK submarine capability and availability (through integrating our complex submarine enterprise) and developing collaborative project arrangements (to enable, at pace, improved delivery of increasing programme demands). You will gain exposure to the full scale of the submarines portfolio and to integrate.

The SDE team is based in Bristol, UK. Applicants will need to be available to attend on-site meetings 2-days per week with occasional UK travel to enterprise / partner sites. Outside of these requirements, we encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work.

What we offer

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.  As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing

You will conduct analysis to identify key enterprise programme issues, evaluate common root causes, and engage collaboratively to craft strategic recommendations for the consideration of enterprise leaders and the MoD customer.

Strong experience in critical, analytical and strategic thinking will be key in this role. A project, business or strategic background and/or scenario modelling experience would be advantageous. You will be supported by the Rolls-Royce Lead for SDE engagement and our partners within the Collaborative Hub.
