PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.- Hands-on Project Management

Take a proactive, hands-on approach to project executionOversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from scope development to commissioningEnsure safe and successful execution of projects in the field.

2.- Team Leadership

Manage and mentor a diverse team, including project controllers, document controllers, contract managers, and junior project engineersFoster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team

3.- Project Performance Monitoring

Utilize project metrics to monitor progress effectivelyHold EPC contractors accountable for maintaining budget and scheduleDevelop and implement specific project execution strategies

4.- Contract Management

Manage contracts throughout project lifecycles

Negotiate and resolve contract disputes and claims effectively

5.- Stakeholder Communication

Communicate project strategies and status to all stakeholders, including upper managementCollaborate with various departments (operations, finance, supply chain, safety) to ensure alignment and compliance

6.- Safety and Compliance

Ensure all contractors and suppliers adhere to Air Products' safety regulations and zero-injury goalConduct and participate in process hazard reviews, HAZOP studies, and cold eye reviewsUphold high standards of housekeeping and conduct regular inspections

7.- Resource Management

Define project tasks and resource requirementsManage project resource allocation progressivelyDevelop accurate estimates, funding documents, schedules, and manpower requirements.

8.- Financial Management

Provide ongoing forecasts and maintain projects on budgetWork with procurement and purchasing to negotiate equipment, materials, and services within cost targets

9.- Technical Collaboration

Coordinate with internal technical resources on project technical and safety issuesEnsure projects meet operability needs of customersAdhere to inherent process safety principles in all design and execution phases

10.- Quality Assurance

Ensure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviewsClose out Operational Readiness Inspections (ORIs) with all actions and recommendations completed before handover.

11.- Continuous Improvement

Evaluate and assess project progress and resultsConduct "lessons learned" sessions for future improvements

12.- Customer Relations

Coordinate with customers on third-party project safety compliance and work permitting issuesHandle high-level communication with customers and internal/external stakeholders

13.- Project Documentation

Oversee project documentation, ensuring all necessary records are maintained and updatedManage project close-out documentation and handover to operations

14.-Technology Integration

Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) effectivelyCross-functional CollaborationWork closely with various departments to ensure integrated project deliveryCoordinate with Air Products Qudra's internal technical resources on complex issues 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Engineering or other technical undergraduate degree (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).10-15 years experience in industrial gases, oil and gas, and/or petrochemical industry.ERP (SAP) project development and Implementation experience is preferred.Proven track record in the chemical, oil and gas, or petrochemical industry in project execution, engineering management, or construction management. Experience in a multi-national company with excellent EHS performance/culture is highly desirableMust be self-starter, and have project management experience to be able to work independently and coordinate efforts among support and leadership resources.Role model within Project Engineering function:High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirementsOrganizational credibility - able to influence business area, engineering and manufacturing managers in decision making processBasic understanding of the process technologies employed in operations of Air Products Qudra facilities.Able to handle high-level communication with customer and internal/external stakeholders and others as warranted.

SKILLSStrong organizational and project management skills.  Experience with Primavera, Microsoft Project, or other Project Management tools is required.Demonstrates practical industrial field experience with strong leadership and communications skills.Must have a hands-on and proactive approach with clear accountability in steering the project execution safely and consistent with Air Products Qudra requirements.Demonstrates experience working in an international or multi-national organization and appreciation of international cultures. Preferred to have exposure to matrix reporting.Needs a business and customer service focus and passion for quality.Possess critical thinking skills and can build trust and confidence with frontline workers, supervisors, and management .Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a pre-requisiteConfident and assertive with a self-motivated approach and flexible attitude. Has the ability to overcome obstacles to solve problems & achieve results.
