Project Leader for Propulsion Development projects at Electromobility

We are currently seeking a Lead Project Manager to join Electromobility at Group Trucks Technology.

The Electromobility Function:  
Electromobility is changing the automotive world, and we are now looking for you who want to be part of making this change in our industry! The Electromobility organization is a vital part of the Volvo group's ambitions to meet zero emissions by 2040. The Electromobility organization is responsible for the development of our electric powertrains – from advanced engineering through product development into the maintenance phase. The function has a purpose-driven leadership and together we drive Electromobility transition based on cutting-edge engineering and state-of-the-art research. Who are You: 
We are currently looking for a Project Leader for component development projects within the Propulsion Engineering function at Electromobility. You will be part of a newly created project manager team working closely with the responsible engineers to together support and drive according to the project expectations for deliveries. Driving and delivering according to project prerequisites is as equally important as also understanding the technology behind together with the engineering teams and how we together will do the solutions.   

Working as a project leader within the propulsion engineering function is a true cross-functional collaboration between the component responsible, the project leaders from other functions as well as our counterparts from aftermarket, purchasing, and operations. Meeting the project deliveries goes hand in hand with always having the product and our customers in mind.  

You will have the opportunity to work with the very latest in technology and lead by project management in the changes that are needed for us to excel in products. In short, you will be an important part of the puzzle in developing the Electromobility of tomorrow.  

 

Your mission in this role: 
Your mission is to lead complex development Electromobility projects from pre-studies up to industrialization and launch of a successful product. 

  

To be able to do this you need to: 

Demonstrate extensive experience and expertise in project management. 

Work with highly dedicated engineers and drive the deliveries according to the project time plan in a collaborative approach. Experience in Motor Drive Systems is an advantage. 

Foster genuine team spirit within the matrix in which you operate. 

Possess a comprehensive understanding of R&D technology to make accurate high-level judgments. Experience from Electromobility is an advantage. 

Be able to engage others and work cross-functional. 

Assume a strong leadership role in a highly complex and uncertain environment. 

Work proactively to secure delivery. 

Communicate and collaborate with peers both within and outside the organization 

 

What to bring:  

At least two years of Expertise and proficiency in project management. 

At least two years of Project leadership background ideally gained from a large global organization, preferably within the automotive sector and Electromobility and Propulsion and Motor Drive System areas. 

Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders on all levels. 

Possesses strong personal credibility, integrity, and creativity. 

Excellent collaboration skills across the entire value chain. 

Engineering background and education preferably within MSc degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, Mechanics or similar. 

Experience of working & collaborating with suppliers 

Fluent in both written and verbal English
