The Project Logistics department is organized in the Nexans Generation & Transmission (G&T) Business Group. We are now looking for a Project Logistics Manager who will be assigned to work in the Turn-key and Offshore Project organizations. The right candidate is expected to ensure that well prepared plans are made for logistics activities, and executed in timely manner.
GETTING A FLYING START
Be the Project Logistics responsible in Generation & Transmission (G&T) Business Group Turn-key and Offshore projects and participate in project meetings (Administration) Make and maintain the Logistics plan in the Turnkey projects Plan freight and customs activities internally between Nexans departments, Forwarding companies, customs clearance agencies and the client Establish documents for exports and imports in Norway and abroad (including shipping invoices and packing lists) Book and follow up transportation (road, sea, air), and import/export customs clearances, that ensures that power cables and equipment are made available at the right place at the right time Ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with prevailing contracts, national and international rules and regulations Negotiate shipment terms for Project cargo such as Reels, Turntables and Installation equipment. Contribute to the identification and reduction of risks related to freight and customs activities in the SLS projects Ensure that the most cost-efficient solutions are used, taking into consideration the consequence cost by delay in other activities Identify the total cost of freight- and customs clearance activities in SLS projects vs budget Perform other tasks that naturally belongs to Project Logistics department’s area of responsibility
YOUR STARTING POINTS WHEN YOU JOIN
Bachelor degree or Master degree within Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or similar Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience within Logistics, Supply Chain, import/export work, or other roles in projects General understanding of international transport and HSE/Security regulations Good knowledge of Incoterms Knowledge of classification of goods (HS codes) Experience from export/import of goods to/from abroad Good IT skills, incl. SAP ERP system Excellent written and oral skills of English, Norwegian is a plus. The matrix organization of the projects requires good communication skills to ensure good information flow across different disciplines Competitive mindset
