Project Management, Emerging Talent Intern Job ID: 11109 Business Unit: Long Island Rail Road Location: New York, NY, United States Regular/Temporary: Intern Department: Vice President ESA Date Posted: Mar 28, 2025 Description Departments: Long Island Railroad (LIRR) Project Management Location: 333 West 34th Street, New York, NY Position Title: Project Management, Emerging Talent Intern Hourly Rate (Undergraduate): $19.00 Overview of the Department: The LIRR Special Projects department manages the planning, design, construction, and implementation of major infrastructure projects for the benefit of our customers from their inception to successful completion, while adhering to the specific project’s scope, schedule, and budget. Responsibilities: • Assist in monitoring project milestones, documenting progress, and reporting performance to stakeholders. • Assist in collecting, organizing, and distributing feedback, ensuring timely implementation of comments. • Assist in recording meeting minutes, tracking action items, and following up on BIC. • Assist in monitoring project timelines, budgets, and generating progress reports. • Participate in safety training, promote safety awareness, and assist in ensuring compliance with safety protocols. • Assist in conducting field visits to inspect project sites, resolve issues, and provide feedback to the team. • Assist in developing and analyzing project budgets, monitoring expenses, and addressing cost discrepancies. • Support procurement strategies, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and tracking timely deliveries. Projects: The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with: + Penn Station Access + ERT Rehabilitation + Penn Reconstruction Required Qualifications: + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must. + The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. + The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. + The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player. Required Education: + Matriculated in undergraduate in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA + Major(s): Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Business Management.
