This 12-months internship is a unique opportunity to develop practical application of skills learned in academia in a broad new field.
Global Capital Investment & Real Estate is responsible for providing an efficient, effective and sustainable working environment for over 30,000 employees of Roche Diagnostics globally. This is done in a multitude of ways, from designing best in class office layouts, to constructing sustainable and fit for purpose manufacturing facilities, controlling and approval of capital expenditure across the division to managing real estate transactions in 104 countries around the world. The multi-disciplinary team offers the perfect environment for a motivated intern to apply transferable skills in a dynamic setting where we set the governance process for capital investment projects and continuous improvement initiatives to ultimately benefit these projects.
We are looking for a motivated, engaged, mature, self-starting individual, keen to grow and prove capability to take on additional tasks beyond the core responsibilities outlined below.
What you will be doing
Within the context of the Project Management and Project Controls area within Capital Investment Projects within the Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics industry (e.g. laboratories, pharmaceutical production, medical devices assembly, offices, infrastructure, etc…), you will work on the following tasks, with guidance and support from mentors and buddies:
Project Management support for initiatives managed by the group
Coordinate and execute initiatives and programs with internal SMEs, external vendors and internal experts for functional areas (contract and partner management, capability building, project reviews and project controls). Some examples of initiatives are: Supplier Relationship Management, Capability Model establishment, etc.
Develop, maintain and improve infrastructure to manage these initiatives (e.g. project management activities, building and maintaining tools, templates, following up on actions, etc.)
Work with stakeholders and participants to ensure smooth execution of assigned initiatives
Organization and Administrative Support for diverse global initiatives
Plan, organize, and coordinate events and meetings (virtual, hybrid, in person)
Prepare materials and documents for Information, communication and engagement of a global audience and various stakeholder groups
Additional possible tasks may include:
Document review support
Review and compare document content (CAPEX contract templates from different countries)
Analyze and capture findings
Design support
Design of communication, learning and engagement materials
Help design webportals, digital tools and experiment with technology

You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master‘s degree related to facility management, real estate, project management, architecture or related fields or equivalent education.
You are a strategic thinker, able to recognize connections to achieve the best possible outcome
You have some experience with Design/ Design Thinking/Learning design
You have a creative, open mindset
Proficiency in English (spoken & written) is a requirement, German desirable
