Job Description
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the Assistant Project Manager (APM) to identify gaps and improvements in materials reporting and distribution. This role assists the APM with the flow of material within the Georgia Power Transmission Project Management Organization to ensure the accuracy of material tracking and booking associated with transmission projects. Responsibilities include addressing material discrepancies, monitoring material requirements, and tracking materials for the project. The Materials Coordinator will ensure that material costs are booked properly throughout the project lifecycle. This position will also ensure that excess material at job sites is returned to the Materials Distribution Center (MDC) or reassigned to another project in a timely manner.
Job experience and Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or other related field preferred. Experience in electric utility engineering, construction, and/or maintenance desired. Supply Chain Management experience specializing in Materials Management is a plus. Advanced degree and/or related professional certification are a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
Audit projects on a regular basis to ensure accuracy in materials booking. Address and reconcile material discrepancies. Ensure excess material is returned to the Materials Distribution Center (MDC) or reassigned to other projects in a timely manner. Visit project sites to observe quality and placement of materials. Work with project stakeholders to identify materials-related reporting gaps and enhancements. Assist with reviews of equipment and procurements packages for compliance with drawings and specifications. Perform data entry to update and maintain master procurement data. Participate in the project closeout process and assist with preparation of final records for projects. Monitor material production and delivery schedules to support project risk identification and mitigation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong supply chain management experience with an emphasis on materials management processes and procedures Proficient in reviewing project documentation, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with processes. General understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM), and drawings. Creative problem solver with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Active listening skills with professional and clear verbal and written communication. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide constructive feedback. Capable of working independently without direct supervision. Embrace and champion change with a positive attitude; manage shifting priorities and deadlines. Understands that after-hours response may occasionally be required due to customer needs, project schedules, storm restoration, or unforeseen circumstances.
