Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Project Management position. This position can be filled with either a level 2 (Project Management) or level 3 (Principal Project Management) candidate and will be based in our San Diego, CA office.

 

This position is for the role of a Program Integrator. The selected candidate will be part of a diverse organization of project integrators within the Program Operations Homeroom. The candidate is responsible to oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and team operations. This individual contributor will work side by side with the Program Manager or Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead on program reporting, metrics generation, monitoring performance, managing risks, addressing issues and other special projects, as needed.

 

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

 

The candidate should have an understanding of program management and they should adhere to NG processes and apply them to working internal projects.  They should have knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel may be required.

 

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and reporting statusDevelopment, implementation, and maintenance of tools/templates for monitoring project progressPreparation of status reports and presentations for NGC internal and Customer meetingsConduct thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization, and ensure compliance to customer and program risk management requirementsManage proposals and lead core proposal team through the proposal process from request for proposal (RFP) through contract award

 

Basic Qualifications - Project Management:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university3 years of related professional/military experience with Bachelor’s degree to include a background of project management, program management, contracts, program operations, business management, or budgeting; OR 1 year of related professional/military experience with a Master’s degree to include a background of project management, program management, contracts, program operations, business management, or budgetingSkillful with Microsoft tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel and TeamsActive DoD Secret clearance (to apply/start)

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionallyProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similarStrong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadershipAerospace and/or Defense Industry experienceExperience working in technical engineering environmentEarned Value Management System (EVMS) experienceExperience managing Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.)Experience working with international customers

Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00Salary Range 2: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
