In your first assignment at Siemens Rolling Stock in Sacramento, CA, we are seeking a Deputy Project Manager. You will work with an experienced mentor throughout the program who will support you in reaching your individual goals and guide you along with our international community of experts, professionals, trainees, and program alumni who all look forward to meeting you!

The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) will be supporting the responsible Bid or Project Manager with the proposal and execution of projects ranging from $25M to $250+M in value. The DPM will be a key participant during the proposal and project execution and is responsible for various work packages within the main project execution phases including planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning, and customer acceptance. Duties include directing resources in a matrix-structured organization while meeting goals for customer satisfaction, cost, schedule, and quality.

You will have communication with internal and external partners for aspects related to the assigned working packages of the project. This position reports functionally to the Vice President of Coaches and operationally to the Bid or Project Manager. The DPM will coordinate task completion with internal sister teams within Siemens. The DPM will be responsible for supporting the Bid or Project Manager to establish the routines the DPM will be responsible for in sub-projects over time with a growth potential as Project Manager.

ResponsibilitiesAssists the Bid or Project Manager with the planning and execution of all operation goals and tasks established for the project.Proactively manage the assigned working packages such as contractual deliverables, and document control, and participate in design meetings with the customer.Leads internal meetings and tracks action items with internal partners for the assigned working packages.Supports the Bid or Project Manager in customer meetings and negotiations for changes in scope, cost, and schedule and takes meeting minutes with action items.Supports the Project Manager to monitor and control project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and partners.Effectively communicate and manage work package and sub-project expectations to team members and collaborators in a timely and clear fashion.Coordinates the collaborative work between different Siemens entities to deliver a complete integrated product that fulfills the customer requirements for a contract including both rolling stock and customer services scope.Support the Bid or Project Manager to create and maintain customer relationships.Supports the Project Manger to develop and deliver monthly project reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal/external customers.Supports the Project Manger to identify and resolve issues/conflicts within the project team.Support customer sales channel activitiesRequired travel: 25%.What we offer you:Two years full of responsibilities, growing, learning and development opportunities for both personal and professional growth.Three individual designed assignments at various Siemens locations, including one eight-month assignment abroadProficient mentoring during the program to support you personally and to develop your potentialA global and diverse community of current participants and program alums who are looking forward to meeting you.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
