This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and closing of projects within our financial institution. This role requires managing both traditional waterfall projects and Agile teams, ensuring successful delivery of project objectives, on time and within budget. The Project Manager will play a critical role in driving project success through effective leadership, clear communication, and rigorous project management practices.
**What you'll do**
+ Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various technical and managerial staff
+ Lead Agile teams, facilitating typical Scrum methodology ceremonies and approach to ensure smooth project delivery
+ Manage traditional waterfall projects, ensuring milestones are achieved, budgets are adhered to, and quality standards are met
+ Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
+ Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management, providing recommendations for issue resolution
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and integration of project deliverables
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate governance policies
+ Facilitate post-project reviews and implement lessons learned to improve future project outcomes
+ Facilitate and document key project decisions
+ Manage change requests to scope, schedule and budget
+ Manage the completion of required project and project management deliverables
+ May facilitate the creation and running of RFPs as needed
+ May facilitate vendor selection and contract negotiation
+ Create and activate risk mitigation plans as needed
+ Facilitate testing stakeholder signoff, partnering with a QA team as applicable
+ Identify and ensure internal and external resources are scheduled for assigned tasks appropriately
+ Work with and hold vendors accountable to agreed upon project plans, deliverables, and statements of work
+ Hold internal and vendor resources accountable to the project’s approved schedule
+ Assist with facilitating a project prioritization process for the review and approval of project requests
+ Provide project management focused review, feedback, and input for project requests
+ Perform other duties assigned
+ The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ A minimum of five years of work experience directly relevant to the job’s duties. An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and post-secondary education may be considered toward meeting this requirement.
+ One to three years of experience leading technical projects such as infrastructure, software development, telecom or third-party software implementations using structured project management practices. Two to five years of experience in a role with responsibility for leading other departmental projects within the Credit Union will be considered in lieu of this requirement.
+ Proven experience managing both Agile and Waterfall projects
+ Strong understanding of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
+ Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar industry recognized certification
+ Experience in using Adobe Workfront and Azure Dev Ops
+ Experience managing projects in the financial services industry
+ Experience managing technology projects from internal infrastructure setup and configuration to new externally hosted system implementations
**Skills, Licenses & Certifications**
+ Proficient in Microsoft Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
+ Proficiency in project management tools such as Adobe Workfront, Azure Dev Ops, or similar
+ Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills & exercise effective interpersonal skills
+ Ability to interface with all levels of staff, including the ability to concisely present work
+ Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, organization, planning and project management skills
+ Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines
+ Ability to exercise strong vendor management skills and work collaboratively to achieve results
+ Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure
+ Ability to work occasional after-hours, as needed
+ Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
+ Ability to pass American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
