What you will doAs a Complete Vehicle Project Manager (CVPM), you will serve as the primary liaison between the Complete Vehicle (CV) department and the project teams. You will maintain clear communication and keep the CV team updated on project decisions. You will also play a key role in challenging and influencing other organizations to align with CV objectives and maintain a customer-centric approach. Your role will involve embracing changes and influencing teams and organizations to adopt new processes and solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize the Verification and Validation Plan within Project Time Management (PTM) in collaboration with feature and simulation engineers to ensure vehicle feature and regulatory requirements are met. Manage test requests using a risk management and “digital first” approach, aligning simulation activities with physical V&V activities and optimizing the test fleet. Secure QDCF (Quality, on-time Delivery, on-target Cost, and vehicle Features) by coordinating cross-functional planning in PTM and resolving operational issues to minimize delays. Identify and allocate resources and associated costs for executing the Verification and Validation plan. Define and manage the overall project budget, including monthly reporting and long-term forecasting. Report project status and gate endorsement recommendations to reference groups and management teams. Lead feature reviews and report vehicle feature status to the Project Management Team (PMT). Provide input to project documentation, including requirement specification, project description, risk register, and lessons learned.
There are currently two (2) open roles on the team, depending on your experience and interest, you may also be responsible to:
1) Electrical / Battery Electric Vehicles
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by integrating the latest advancements in digitalization, connectivity, and simulation technologies into the V&V plan with support from feature and simulation engineers.
2) Process Improvement
Oversee the integration of the JIRA TORP application with GHOST. Drive the implementation of Develop Product & Aftermarket Portfolio (DVP) process in the Complete Vehicle department. Act as the DVP Super User, improving processes and applying project management methodologies to enhance efficiency. Train and mentor CVPMs on best practices and new processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Your future team
Our team, the Project Management Office (PMO), is an important part of the Complete Vehicle function of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) within Volvo Group North America. Our purpose is to build confidence that our products work for our customers and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements. In our PMO, you will work closely with feature and simulation engineers to develop and maintain the Virtual and Physical Verification and Validation Plan. You will also define and manage project budgets and resources and provide overall project status updates.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 5+ years of engineering and project management experience Advanced proficiency with Project Time Management (PTM) Ability to travel as needed (<25%)
Preferred
Master’s degree in engineering or business-related field Experience with Volvo processes and tools, especially DVP Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification Proven experience in vehicle verification and validation
Additionally position specific requirements
Electrical / BEV Experience with electromobility-related components and systems knowledge of software development in the automotive industry, including Maturity Phases and how they connect to the vehicle milestones Process Management Experience with TORP application
