What We Need
The Project Manager, Data Governance is responsible for driving the execution of data governance projects and initiatives across BCBSMA, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and data strategy. This role focuses on project coordination, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement to support the adoption and integration of data governance practices. The PMO will also track key metrics and ensure timely delivery of initiatives that improve data quality, usability, and compliance.
This position requires strong project management skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Your Day to Day
+ Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management
+ Manage the lifecycle of data governance projects, ensuring delivery within scope, on time, and within budget
+ Collaborate with business units, IT, compliance, and legal teams to align data governance projects with organizational objectives.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, ensuring transparency and alignment among all stakeholders.
+ Document project workflows, lessons learned, and best practices to enhance repeatability and scalability of data governance processes
+ Support the creation and refinement of data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Coordinate the deployment of data governance tools, including data cataloging platforms, MDM solutions, and self-service analytics tools.
+ Ensure technical solutions align with data governance requirements and user needs
+ Identify, document, and mitigate risks associated with data governance initiatives to ensure smooth project execution.
+ Support change management initiatives to drive the adoption of data governance practices and tools, including user training and communication plans.
+ Track and report on KPIs related to project progress, data quality, and governance adoption.
+ Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate results to leadership.
We Are Looking For:
+ Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
+ Experience in managing cross-functional projects with competing priorities.
+ Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
+ Experience with data governance tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or other similar platforms.
+ Understanding of cloud-based data management platforms and their integration with governance processes
+ Demonstrated experience in managing project risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration between diverse teams and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
+ Knowledge of healthcare data domains, including enrollment, claims, and clinical data, is preferred.
What You Bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
+ 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in data governance or healthcare.
+ PMP or relevant certifications strongly preferred
+ Healthcare experience preferred
+ Proficiency with MS Project, Kanban and Agile management platforms

Salary Range: $112,770.00 - $137,830.00
The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
