Project Manager, IT & Digitalization - Lithium Gigafactory

Job Purpose

The Program Manager, IT & Digitalization will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of IT and digital initiatives for a new Lithium Gigafactory. This role will be responsible for aligning technology solutions with business needs, optimizing factory processes through digital transformation, and ensuring seamless integration of IT infrastructure within the factory environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, finance, and external vendors, to deliver a cutting-edge digital manufacturing ecosystem.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Leadership: Lead the IT & Digitalization program for the Lithium Gigafactory project, from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. Technology Strategy Development: Develop and implement the factory’s IT strategy in line with Industry 4.0 standards, leveraging advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, machine learning, robotics, and automation. Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives, including the integration of ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and SCM (Supply Chain Management) systems in alignment with corporate IT standards. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment of critical IT infrastructure (network, servers, cybersecurity, and data centers) necessary for a smart factory environment. Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and technology partners to evaluate, select, and implement best-in-class solutions for digital platforms and hardware. Data Management: Ensure robust data governance and analytics solutions to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across the factory. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration and integration of IT with engineering, manufacturing, and operations. Risk & Compliance: Manage risks related to IT operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations, cybersecurity standards, and corporate governance requirements. Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee budget allocation, track project milestones, and ensure timely delivery of the program within scope and budget. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging digital technologies and continuously identify opportunities to improve factory processes and performance through innovative IT solutions.
  Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 

7-10 years of experience in IT program management, with a focus on digital transformation and factory operations in a high-tech or manufacturing environment. Proven experience with large-scale IT implementations, such as ERP, MES, SCM systems, and smart factory solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of Industry 4.0, IoT, AI, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in digital platforms, IT infrastructure, network security, cloud solutions, and data analytics. Familiarity with automation tools, robotics, and factory control systems (PLC, SCADA).

Soft Skills:

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of innovation and change management. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Travel Expectations

The travel expectations for this role are 50% the first year and 20-30% on an ongoing basis. You will be required to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in high-tech or electronics manufacturing. PMP or ITIL certification. Experience with agile project management methodologies. General Job Requirements Generic
