Project Manager, Office of Quality and Patient Safety
St. Jude seeks a highly motivated project management professional to join the Office of Quality and Patient Safety. This role plays a crucial role in managing a portfolio of institutional improvement projects, including using robust improvement methods, tracking timelines, milestones, and identifying barriers to progress. In this position, you will be responsible to collaborate with leadership within the Office of Quality and Patient Safety and team members across many different departments across St. Jude, especially those engaged in the annual improvement projects. You will also manage the annual institutional quality planning process and manage progress on annual goals across the team. You will collaborate with and update key partners, such as nursing, information services, clinical operations, and strategic planning throughout the year. Successful individuals in this role will be able to systematically manage multiple large projects at a strategic level, which will often require guiding and coaching other project managers and members of improvement teams. Success in this role will often require assimilating information from many sources and advising leadership on how best to advance progress. Therefore, the ideal candidate will combine project management skills with problem solving and advisory skills. Job Responsibilities: Independently lead quality processes/projects for assigned area. Conduct data analysis and interpretation and share insights and trends with relevant stakeholders to identify suitable actions. Collaborate across teams as required to drive resolution of quality-related issues and drive patient quality outcomes. Identify and implement quality improvement activities within area, and conduct periodic quality assurance review/audits to measure progress and determine suitable actions. Serve as an educational resource regarding quality improvement and related issues for assigned teams. Analyze compliance efforts within assigned teams and external benchmarks to propose benchmark measures, strategies, and approaches. Coordinate and investigate incident reports and accidents for assigned areas, and conduct trending analysis to identify remedial actions. Guide team members on quality and patient safety-related processes and systems. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum Requirement: 5+ years relevant project management experience. Experience with quality systems highly preferred. Quality experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Experience with quality improvement, utilization management, risk reduction/safety management, and related issues. Experience working with accreditation and regulatory standards and their application to patient care. Proven performance in earlier role. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: Project Management Certification (PMP) is preferred Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma at the highest attained level preferred. Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Connects the dots between different disparate pieces of data sources and draws out and communicates insights that are not obvious. Integrates insights and observations across analyses/ sources to identify and recommend potential opportunities for improvement action. Has working knowledge of project management and planning tools. Is able to effectively sequence and prioritize tasks within programs and works more independently to manage day to day issues, escalating as needed. Understands the overall program goals & customer needs, coordinates with cross functional teams and tracks dependencies & risks. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
