The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Manager, Research Support to work at the UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL. CORE JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager, Research Support will be responsible for carrying out tasks in accordance with all strategic initiatives and objectives to fulfill the mission and vision of the University of Miami and the Office of Community, Outreach, and Engagement (COE) at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sylvester). Projects will be defined by Sylvester leadership working collaboratively with the Director, Project Management Office (Sylvester Research Administration). The incumbent in this position will be responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle (initiation, planning, execution, control, and close). The Project Manager will be responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. The Project Manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation-interfacing with all areas affected by the project including end users, stakeholders and vendors and ensures adherence to quality standards. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS + Manages complex projects and initiatives of high priority for Cancer Center Leadership. + Incorporates timelines and deadlines into project plans for successful monitoring of progress and completion. + Provides quality assurance for assigned deliverables. + Manages tight timelines ensuring quick turnaround for successful project delivery. + Manages and implements project work plans. + Coordinates and implements change management, when necessary. + Partner with multiple department and sub-divisions within SCCC (finance, research, IT, grants, patient care etc.). + Manages and coordinates agendas, meetings, and workflows for all project meetings. + Detail oriented ensuring completion and reports to leaders with regard to project status. + Facilitate communication and serve as resource to cancer center faculty and staff to ensure successful completion and submission of all project-related milestones (i.e., kickoff, progress updates, closure/handoffs, etc.) + Manage performance monitoring and metrics for initiatives and other projects as assigned. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required Certification and Licensing: PMP certification strongly encouraged Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: + Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. + Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. + Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. + Knowledge of business and management principles. + Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations. + Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan. + Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others. + Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others. + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. + Commitment to the University's core values. + Well-versed in Microsoft Office products: SharePoint (administration experience preferred), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Adobe Acrobat. + Proficiency in using Project Management software preferred (i.e. Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana). Department Specifics: PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT Strong project management skills with proven problem-solving abilities and experience with different project methodologies. + Tracks metrics and ROIs on all projects and is able to report on them. + Ability to identify needs of the project area and works with director to build budgets and forecast needs. + Prepares reports and analytics for external and internal constituents. + Works with director to develop report schedules, data repository and data tracking methods to support decision making operational excellence in all areas of administration. + Prior project management experience. + Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills. + Apply project management skill set as needed. + Superior team building skills and ability to collaborate well with others. + Ability to review and analyze information and data, identify questions/problems from this information and data, conduct research to ascertain possible solutions. + Ability to organize and present information to small and large groups in an informative and interesting manner. + Responsible for tracking and updating key documents for review including Memorandums of Understandings and reports of progress as required. + Responsible for scheduling, meeting tracking and minute taking. + Monitors the performance of the project team and ensures that assignments are accomplished as scheduled and according to specified objectives. + Serves as liaison between technical and non-technical teams and vendor/subcontractor organizations, to ensure all project targets and requirements are met. + Monitors the progress of project and notifies management of issues/risks and assists in their resolution. + Pursues ways to improve operations and provides management with productivity and status reports. + Establishes and works on priorities, which meet the departmental goals and objectives, and identifies areas of continuous improvement. + Implements action plans or initiatives to achieve goals and objectives. #LI-YC1 The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.
