Overview You will lead medium to complex data warehouse and data visualization projects using your Project Management expertise. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're excellent communication skills means you’re equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with your development team. Successful candidates will have a strong technical project management background in Data Warehousing, be detail driven, have excellent problem-solving abilities, have strong business judgment, and experience leading cross-functional teams. Your project management expertise and operational excellence will influence the team's decisions, drive secure and robust solutions and produce high quality products to delight our customers and internal stakeholders. We are looking for leaders with proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects. We execute work leveraging Agile Scrum and Waterfall frameworks. How you'll make an impact This individual will: · Direct development teams and drive the execution of the project schedule, scope, and budget throughout the project life-cycle. · Will lead the communication plan facilitating project sponsor meetings, team meetings and status reports. They will provide project presentations to executive leadership groups and review and provide input on project deliverables. · Foster high reliability by initiating process improvement opportunities based on past project experiences and leads the business sponsor, stakeholders and project team to identify lessons learned and champions the improvement opportunities. · Execute Project Management and SDLC disciplines: o Comprehend and Embrace the Project Business Case: The right PM should be capable of focusing a project on the delivery of the business case, and shaping the team’s efforts to achieve a solution and time frame that align with the business needs. o Estimate Projects: The right PM should be comfortable working with business resources, technology architects and other IT resources in order to create Top Down (e.g. - T-Shirt size) and Bottom Up (deliverable or task based) hours and dollars estimate. o Plan Projects: Prioritizing completing efforts, securing resources from other managers and integrating those resources into a detailed work plan that reflects tasks and associated estimates is a fundamental responsibility of a PM at GB. o Monitor and Communicate Progress: Following industry standard Project Management processes to keep Projects on task and ensure the project is progressing as planned. Status should be reported and communicated at the appropriate level of detail to the team, IT management and appropriate business stakeholders. The successful Project Manager will be experienced in monitoring project vs the plan, identifying course corrections that may be required and keeping project management deliverables (e.g. – work plans, estimates) up to date as these changes occur. o Track and Manage the Budget: The successful candidate will be capable of tracking the financial status of a project throughout the project lifecycle and escalate potential problems. Manages costs and resource allocation among projects. Collects and analyzes actual costs, time and scope delivered against plan. o Manage Issues and Risks: As the project experiences issues, the PM should be adept at clearly identifying and articulating the true blocker and then executing steps to drive the issue to a conclusion; escalating when needed. o Control Change: The right project manager should keep the team focused on the original plan, be capable of identifying the differences between changes that are just detailed requirements vs. a fundamental change - and follow a rigorous process to gain management approval for those changes. o Communicate: We are a matrixed organization, and as such, it is important for a PM to be in alignment with the team, the business and IT management. The right PM will understand how to communicate across these audiences and will be able to do so in an efficient manner to ensure client expectations are in-line with project goals and objectives. About You 10+ years of strong project management experience focused in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors. · 5+ years of managing Business Intelligence/ Data Warehousing project ranging in size from large scale and small efforts. · Advanced understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and run team meetings. · Creative thinker who can quickly adjust between strategy and execution as well as adapt to dynamic needs that may arise · Experience in a data-driven environment. · Experience or understanding of ETL. · Comfortable working with MS SQL Server or other large database platform. Understanding of using SQL to query. · Strong vendor negotiation and partnering skills with experience in outsourcing and off shore development. · Demonstrated effective relationship management and ability to influence key decision makers. · Experience working in a cloud environment, specifically Azure is considered a plus Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
