Job Summary 

The Senior Project Manager position will be focused on leading the successful planning, execution and delivery of complex projects, often managing multiple teams and large budgets, requiring strong leadership skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality.

As Senior Project Manager, this individual will be responsible for leading and overseeing multiple complex projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring successful delivery within budget and timeline by coaching teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver high-value increments throughout the project lifecycle, while actively promoting continuous improvement and adapting to changing requirements within the team and organization; often requiring extensive experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum/SAFe and strong communication skills to guide teams towards optimal performance. 

Responsibilities 

Team leadership: Assemble and manage cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and motivating members to achieve project milestones.  Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, manage project scope, prioritize backlog items, and track progress against key metrics to ensure timely delivery.  Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical leads to gather requirements, manage expectations. Communicate project status updates effectively to senior management, business owners, and technical teams, managing expectations and addressing concerns.  Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize impact on project success throughout the project lifecycle.   Metrics and Reporting: Monitor project performance using Agile metrics like velocity, burndown charts, and other relevant KPIs to identify areas for improvement. Generate comprehensive project reports, including status updates, key metrics and performance insights.  Impediment Removal: Actively identify and resolve roadblocks that hinder team progress, escalating issues to relevant parties when necessary Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing project data, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing best practices across teams.  Budget Control: Monitor project progress against budget, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to ensure project remains on track.  Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards through rigorous testing and quality checks  Reporting and Analysis: Generate comprehensive project reports, including status updates, key metrics and performance insights Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning, ensuring teams adhere to Agile principles and practices.  Team Coaching: Mentor and coach cross-functional teams on Agile methodologies, self-organization, and continuous improvement to maximize team performance. 

Education/ Skills/ Experience 

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent work experience  PMP Certification preferred Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools. Scrum Master / SAFe Certification preferred 7-10+ years of Project Management experience Proven experience managing large, complex projects in a dynamic development environment.  Relevant experience in Insurance industry helpful. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira)  Strong leadership, consultative, team building and influencing skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address project challenges  Expertise in understanding and communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience Ability to identify, understand and communicate business needs for technical projects Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities Out of the box thinker who can take a step back and find alternative solutions

The pay range for the role is $108,000 to $140,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
