Project Manager, Strategic Engagement

The Project Manager, Strategic Engagement on our Biologics Program Operations Team is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of projects and programs for McKesson's internal specialty pharmacy group that dispenses oncology and rare disease medications to patients. Work in this role involves coordinating implementation activities with our external drug manufacturing clients, as well as internal department and cross-functional teams. You'll focus on the end-to-end delivery of a product or program from the design process through a finished state for internal/external customers. Provides a single point of contact for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Takes projects from original concept through final implementation

Interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including customers, client services, and various departments (e.g., marketing, technology, operations)

Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the project and serves as project manager between clients, line management, and internal and external resources

Plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets

Assesses project issues and risks and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals

Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports

Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables

Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables

Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis of and solution to problems

Account/Project Management:

Drives collaboration across all Biologics Program Operations Team, which includes representatives from Quality, Pharmacy Services, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Business Development, Human Resources, Finance and Accounting, and Business Intelligence

Monitors monthly performance against service level agreements and develops a plan for corrective action if service levels are not met

Serves as the first point of contact for day-to-day program issues. Involves team members as needed to resolve all issues within reasonable time frames and escalates issues to the team leader as necessary

Interacts with all internal departments to assist as needed in providing business understanding

Ensures timely delivery of reports according to program SLA’s

Verifies the reasonability of data before client release

Understands, evaluates, and interprets data in order to accurately summarize the meaning of information to the customer

Manages project timeline, cross-functional teams, and interdepartmental communication. Maintains project plans and tracking logs as appropriate. Manages the change request process within the team

Identifies project priorities with customers and communicates priorities to the internal team

Financial Management:

Monitors program profitability against plan on a monthly basis and prepares analysis if established thresholds are not met

Understands contractual obligations and negotiates incremental contractual arrangements after program go-live

Ensures the accuracy of all client invoices prior to billing release. Escalates identified billing issues/concerns to the manager as necessary to ensure 100% accuracy in billing activities. Receives client invoices from the finance department and ensures all invoices are received in a timely manner, reviews all line items, and verifies all backup documentation

Customer Relationship Management:

Responsible for overall customer satisfaction with the pharmaceutical client. Acts as the primary point of contact for the client related to projects and project status information

Manages client expectations regarding the delivery of services

Provides the customer with proactive consultative services on process improvement, revenue-generating, and cost-saving opportunities

Responsible for all written and verbal (non-sales and non-IT specific) communication to the client

Prepares and delivers Quarterly Business Reviews to the client on the state of the business and outlines opportunities for enhancement, growth, efficiency, etc.

Workforce & Administrative:

Monitors team tracking on customer projects

Provides status reports to ensure senior-level management visibility to program operation

Builds a team environment with internal partners

Manages conflict resolution to ensure successful/productive project to program operation

Minimum Requirements:

4-degree in a related field or equivalent experience (advanced degree, MBA or MHS is highly preferred), and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills:

4+ years of business experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Account/Client Management, Finance, Distribution, or Management Consulting is preferred

Collaborative, customer-focused, and able to create visible value to the client and within the organization

Proven ability to handle multiple projects toward effective solutions and according to budget and timelines

Advanced project management and organization skills

Detailed understanding and experience with process documentation and improvement

Analytical ability to take an opportunity, notice trends, research, and suggest solutions to the customer

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop strong team relationships and bring individuals together to focus on team goals

Excellent time management/organization skills

Travel:

10% travel may be required

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$75,400 - $125,600
