The Supply Chain Project Management Office (SCPMO) operates as a Center of Excellence for Project Management at a strategic level and sits inside of the Global Supply Chain function. It collaborates directly with Senior Leaders in Manufacturing, D&T, Strategy, Integration, Productivity and ERA and has responsibility for key projects across Global Supply Chain organization. The main goal of the SCPMO is to provide quality project management services and build project management capabilities across the Global Supply Chain using standards, guidelines, processes, tools, and techniques to efficiently and agile implement projects.
Specific Responsibilities
Leads and oversees high-priority projects requiring cross-functional collaboration to deliver solutions across the Global Supply Chain network. Demonstrate experience, skills and capabilities in all project management competencies, including planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling of complex technical projects. Manage projects from ideation through final implementation following the project Lifecyle from initiation to closeout. Responsible to define and deliver project scope and timeline, manage a decentralized project team and partnering with multiple cross functional leaders to identify and mitigate project risks. Create and review project plans, work with stakeholders to understand complex problems, propose resolution, remove roadblock in a timely manner and escalate when necessary to meet timelines. Drive the adoption to SCPMO management standards and practices to ensure consistently and efficiently project execution and timely and quality deliverables. Drives ownership and execution for delivering project deliverables on timing, cost, quality, and budget. Monitor and report status of project progress and risks to the project sponsor, leadership team and key stakeholders. Identify gaps and develop, improve and implement standards, guidelines, practices, processes and templates for managing projects consistently and efficiently to meet deadlines while minimizing risks and costs Hold regular reviews with peer managers to ensure projects plans are aligned with major initiatives. Use financial information and data to conduct analysis and support fact-based project and business decisions. Encourages alignment between Newell Supply Chain (NSC) and Finance on capital spend within guidelines of established project budget to meet business objectives. Leads collaboration efforts across the organization to leverage best practices, expertise, and shared resources.
The Candidate
The selected candidate will have responsibility to deliver solutions for the Global Supply chain which is a vertically integrated operation inside Newell Brands with a willingness to being hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution while working on projects of strategic importance. This requires excellence in strategic, tactical leadership and planning across all geographies and functions, including Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, Productivity, Finance, R&D, Data Management, EHS and Real Estate.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Management, or related technical field. PMP Certification preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) - business proficient fluency preferred. Consumer products industry experience preferred. 7+ experience preferred in project management for Supply Chain on CGP industries Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing or DC operation and production/supply planning. Experience leading project with high complexity and high levels of capital spend. Proven ability to facilitate relations between Executive Leadership and GSC Operations leads. Demonstrated familiarity with structured project management methodologies. Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes. Logical and creative problem-solving and analytical skills required. Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft office suite, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, PowerBi and SharePoint. Possesses influencing skills (leads by example, clearly articulates business cases and interpretation of cause-effect impact). Demonstrates high ethics and values. Highly effective organization and planning skills required. Ability to interact appropriately with cross-functional personnel through executive leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills are required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to travel 25% to Supply Chain locations across the US and Internationally
