Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a talented Utility Project Manager, Civil and Utilities Engineering for our dynamic Toronto West office. We are looking for a team lead with a background in road and transit projects in Ontario. Experience in Environmental Assessments, preliminary and detailed design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.

This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, business development and client interaction. As a Project Manager you will be asked to assist in growing and maintaining the business. Role Accountabilities:

Lead engineering tasks on large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring coordination and execution of all technical components. Review preliminary and detailed design drawings, support engineering studies, and write reports (e.g., Environmental Study Reports, engineering studies, proposals). Assist in identifying potential project opportunities and support bid submissions. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources. Ensure projects stay within the allocated budget, track expenses, and handle financial reporting. Manage and support staff by providing guidance, motivation, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Monitor staff productivity and ensure efficient use of project tasks. Coordinate project activities across multiple design disciplines to align project schedules, resources, and budgets. Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure communication, collaboration, and fulfillment of client needs. Manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive relationships throughout the project. Oversee resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines, costs, or quality. Develop contingency plans. Maintain accurate project records, including progress reports, status updates, and final project documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. 5+ years of Project Management experience and 8+ years of Transportation Engineering experience. Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience. P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred. Experience with Metrolinx, MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, and Halton Region is an asset. Experience with preliminary and detailed design of municipal infrastructure, arterial roads, highways, and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety). Familiarity with Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley products (MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads) is an asset. Understanding of traffic engineering principles. Familiarity with GTHA market conditions and public/private sector client base in and around the GTHA. Familiar with construction inspection and preparation of reports. Ability to work independently and in groups, with proven ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients. Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
