Bloomberg’s Capital Project team is seeking a Construction & Design Project Manager to support the firm’s capital projects and improvements undertaken across various locations and offices throughout the EMEA region!
The Role
The EMEA project management team is looking for a dedicated client-side Project Manager. In this role we will require you to have a high degree of professional knowledge managing a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will be expected to deliver small to medium size construction projects in line with business requirements of quality, time and cost whilst running all related project risks. You will be supported by internal senior project managers, which will include assisting on the delivery of medium to large projects. You need to be able to communicate and articulate the needs of the project and provide accurate reporting to the client, project team lead and senior management.
You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery including the development of end-user program requirements and coordination of the occupation of new and refurbished Bloomberg offices (plus decommissioning of the Company's current offices). Responsibilities include the technical due diligence process and assist with future capital planning.
You will be involved in the commercial management of projects and ongoing improvements of our real estate governance model. Analytical thinking will be a key part of this role.
This is an exciting role within Bloomberg and offers scope for further professional development. There is a level of travel required in support of the role across the region.
We’ll trust you to:
- Provide leadership to the internal and external design and construction project team
- Support on the development of scope narratives, budgets and schedules that will be used to define a project and acquire management approvals
- Support Contract Administration and procurement groups to ensure strategic methods are developed and applied for procurement of professional consultants and contractors
- Ensure BLP governance and policy is rigorously followed
- Support in ongoing improvement of our governance processes & procedures, using analytical thinking.
- Manage all meetings including effectiveness, time management, and documentation management
- Manage all cost management and projects controls processes. Make decisions to ensure project budget is maintained
- Ensure development and tracking of project baseline critical path schedule is managed and adhered to
- Manage the construction administration phase to ensure project and contract requirements are being met
- Develop and assist with all monthly project reporting. Sign off on all financial project reports, invoices, and similar documents
- Keep ESG front of mind and lead on the establishment of project ESG targets in line with BLP firm wide ESG strategy
You will need to have:
- A Technical degree in architecture, engineering, design, construction project management or similar
- A Minimum of 3-5 years experience in construction project management
- Financial project management and governance experience of projects up to $10MM
- Experience in design and construction phases of a project including time on site under different stages of construction
- A good understanding of knowledge across the various subject areas and topics encountered on an office design and construction project
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite, MS Project, Primavera or similar industry project management and scheduling software
- Experience with reading drawings and specifications including architectural, structural, MEP, and IT/Comm
- Experience in establishing contracts for consulting and construction services Understanding of the various contracting methods and right applications for each method
- Understanding of roles and responsibilities as typically set forth in the industry by AIA, EJCDC, construction contracts and similar
- Strong presentation skills and stakeholder management experience
We’d love to see:
- RICS, MCIOB accreditation or similar
- Experience with corporate governance and reporting requirements
- Experience and knowledge of eBuilder or comparable project management software
