DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager (PM II) to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the portfolio management team that establishes consistent processes to manage an IDIQ contract with multiple concurrent task orders. The position requires exceptional leadership and program management skills with the ability to successfully oversee the project and program management processes and tools that support a portfolio of technical projects executed by multi-disciplinary teams across various geographic locations. This position will be an integral member supporting flood risk, resiliency, and disaster work on contracts with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), including FEMA Headquarters and FEMA regions. This position will be an integral member of the Emergency Management and Response group of the Alexandria, Virginia office. As part of this group, the project manager will support contracts with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and may be asked to support other contracts as needs arise.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee adherence to project plans and established business processes, and project management and standards. Lead meetings and follow through on assigned action items directly with clients and team members. Provide guidance to team members related successful delivery across the full project lifecycle, including developing forecasts and estimates. Leverage earned value management principles to develop insights for decision making. Direct and coordinate activities of multi-disciplinary staff to ensure project delivery per schedule, on budget, and within scope parameters. Work with team members and clients to prepare scopes, schedules, budgets, assumptions, and constraints for projects. Upon approval of task orders, provide oversight for the development of project plans for efficient and successful delivery across the full project lifecycle. Develop and implement contract-wide quality assurance and quality control measures. Proactively strategize and anticipate project risks and issues. Maintain accountability for completeness and accuracy of project status reports and invoices. Coordinate with other managers to balance workload and staffing needs. Facilitate team building and professional develop and provide staff mentorship. Cultivate and manage client relationships and guide application of services to best serve the interests of the client and Michael Baker International Support business development and proposal efforts. Maintain accountability for compliance with contract requirements, including quality and security requirements.PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Geography, Planning, or related discipline (a Bachelors or Masters in Business is preferred) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Demonstrated knowledge of FEMA’s Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (Risk MAP) program, FEMA’s Guidelines and Standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping Activities Under the Risk MAP Program, and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Minimum of 5 years of related experience working with FEMA’s Risk MAP Program (non-negotiable requirement) Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Excellent oral and written communication skills, proactive communicator and problem-solver Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ownership and accountability for work Capability to work in a dynamic environment, including a demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities Ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of individuals from various backgrounds, including risk communication experts, engineers; planners; GIS professionals; federal, tribal, and state government officials; and the public Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills Ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget requirements, working with multi-disciplinary teams under limited supervision Strong track record of overseeing successful project delivery with a drive for quality product and financial excellence Demonstrated supervisor and mentoring skills Ability and willingness to lead a matrixed team to meet program priorities Expertise in Microsoft Office products, including MS Excel Solid work ethic and have the drive to be a leader in the company and in the professional communityPREFERRED

The approximate compensation range for this position is 120 to 160K. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.BENEFITS
