JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Manager – R&D is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of Digital Services and Hardware development projects. The role ensures that project objectives are met, including customer value, business case alignment, stakeholder requirements, safety, quality, cost management, and adherence to timelines. Project Managers lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in scope. They maintain transparency with Product Owners, Tribe Leads and Key Stakeholders, providing regular updates and escalating issues as necessary to ensure project success.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Analyze and understand Stakeholders’ project requirements

Define project Scope, Schedule, and Budget, based on project requirements and involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor and track progress. Create and maintain comprehensive Project documentation

Manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques;

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project targets, within the defined scope, timeline and budget.

Responsible for successful project Kick-off, project reviews, project reporting and facilitating project governance.

Ensure quality levels against the targets. Take necessary corrective actions when needed.

Balance between allocated resources and project needs and make the decisions together with stakeholders.

Manage interfaces with all key stakeholders both in KONE and outside KONE during the project (e.g., Customers, partners, suppliers).

Identify, assess, and manage project risks, planning mitigation strategies, contingencies, and recovery actions with relevant stakeholders.

Responsible for addressing the impediments in the project, resolve them or if needed escalate them on time.

Ensuring that Safety practices are followed by all the project stakeholders during the execution.

Support Tribe efforts as needed to achieve committed goals.

Participate in technical evaluations, analysis and/or reviews from a product level perspective.

Assist other teams with project management techniques knowledge

Participate in Tribe Agile Ways of working

Quarterly planning activities: Align with Tribe Lead and Product Owners on Project goals, resource allocation and commitments per quarter.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

B.Sc. or M.Sc. or similar

Studies in Project Management methodologies. PMP certification is an advantage  

Experience in Engineering or in a RnD role.

Proven 3 -5 years of experience in working with SW/HW development project management

Proficient in Project management across various methodologies.

Lean and Agile ways of working – Practitioner Level Experience

Experience in leading/working with virtual teams especially in a global context

Strong coordination, communication, and assertiveness skills

Understanding of financial aspects of managing projects and product initiatives

Experience in working with external suppliers and partners, in complex engineering context

KONE Way methodology for product development & deployment processes

Familiarity of KONE products and KONE business

English – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
