Project Manager 1
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Manager 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus.
Core Summary
The Project Manager 1 (H) oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a variety of projects to ensure the successful development, completion, and implementation of department projects and initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Defines the scope of projects in conjunction with leadership.
Discusses the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
Establishes and documents comprehensive project plans and timelines, which identify and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
Monitors the progress of the projects and makes adjustments to ensure successful completion.
Consults with the appropriate leadership on the selection of staff to assist with projects.
Ensures all project personnel receive orientation that is appropriate to the project.
Manages project staff according to the established policies and practices of the organization.
Department Specific Functions
Responsible for updating all Neurology social media outlets/accounts.
Work with division chiefs and faculty to create content for social outlets.
Create and maintain social media strategy for the Department of Neurology
Collaborate with central social media group for institutional updates and act as Neurology liaison for marketing and communications. This includes providing department-specific content as needed.
Responsible for marketing-related department duties including creating quarterly newsletters, department announcements/brochures, etc.
Create Department’s annual report.
Work with central marketing group on reputation strategy. Includes collaborating with hospital partners and PMs on USNWR ranking strategies.
Coordinate purchase of Department’s promotional items.
Manage departmental website to include faculty success profiles, bio cards, and headshots.
Create and manage alumni association strategy/events.
Manage receptions at AAN.
Coordinate departmental events including wellness, outreach, etc.
Act as department liaison for Advisory council meetings.
Coordinate annual Neurology update course in collaboration with CME office.
Assists and informs Faculty/PI’s of visa procedures, accessibility, timelines and cost
Collaborates with Immigration Services, Student Scholar Services and Fragomen Attorneys to determine if we can sponsor foreign national
Liaison at all times, between foreign national, Neurology Department, Immigration Services, Student Scholar Services and Attorneys
Responsible for the completion of visa questionnaire in its entirety, routing for signatures and approval
Prepares and gathers all required documents from multiple parties necessary for filing of petition
Communicates effectively with leadership to inform of visa progress
Ensures an electronic file is created per case and all sensitive and confidential documents are stored properly
Maintains visa log active and up to date
Keeps abreast of renewals, amendments, extensions, waivers and all developments pertaining to new and current immigration cases
Supports Department Administrators with clerical tasks such as creating position requisitions, timecard approvals, etc.
Responsible for overseeing observership process for Neurology
Knowledgeable of Workday procedures
Participates in trainings and workshops
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Completes assignments accurately with attention to detail
Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
