Job Description

If you are a motivated and skilled program manager with interest in managing complex interdependent programs resulting in products that will be used in most of cellphones sold today, Skyworks’ design team is looking for you!   

  

As a part of the company’s acoustic filter design team, you would plan and coordinate work of a few different teams to ensure timely delivery of  final products to Skyworks customers.  

 
The candidate is expected to have daily alignment meetings with members of the filter design team. The job requires assessing progress of various projects against the established flow, identifying risks to a project’s schedule, and communicating those risks to team leaders in order to take timely corrective actions. This individual will have close working relationships with his/her peers in manufacturing and technology teams. The candidate would monitor the development of new technologies and delivery of design collaterals (PDK, models, design rules) to ensure their on-time availability and thus avoiding any negative impact on filters cycle time. A key responsibility of this candidate is working with manufacturing PM team to ensure the design timeline and the production timeline are in agreement with product delivery deadlines.  In this capacity, this program manager explores various scheduling trade-offs to keep aforementioned deadlines intact.

Job Responsibilities Plan, de-risk and monitor all filter developments according to established product development flow  Daily report of deviations from the plan to design team leadership  Track development of new technologies from concept to qualification to ensure readiness for product development   Manage delivery schedule of design collaterals by NPI and EDA teams to ensure no impact on product development schedule  Coordinate with manufacturing program management to guarantee design and production plans meet the product delivery date   Maintain and present a list of all projects pertinent to MSB filter team (actual filter products, EDA/NPI deliveries, modeling projects, new technology development)   Lessen the cognitive load and PM FTE for content heavy programs (ie high FTE programs such as TX DSM)  Direct engagement with BU, Filter PM Team, and TMG (Quality, NTI, On-shore and offshore assembly Ops) to align groups to achieve Skyworks wide KPIs. These can include quarterly alignment meetings chaired by this person to ensure feedback into relevant groups is in closed loop format to drive actionable results with planning and execution in place to align to the KPIs  Coordinate technical inputs to align with Product NPI module milestones  Spec alignment with filter activity to customer delivery milestone  Elevate resource constraints to senior management to ensure both design and layout activities are operating smoothly and aligned to the module program needs  Ensure quality requirements are adhered to and planned against in a timely manner to reduce the number of surprises for key milestones  This may include coordinating with Ops/NTI PMs and module PMs to plan early builds for quality or pipe cleaners  Consolidate inputs from Japan/SG PMs for deliveries  At a minimum funnel this info into PMs/MAs – this should get better over time with IT enhancements  Ensure recovery lots are started for critical milestones where impacted  Ensure Executive direction on module program is achieved through tapeout planning and validation with clear benchmarks – this should help lessen the load on filter DE liaisons  Regularly scheduled meeting cadence with filter liasons and management 

 

Qualifications 

BS and 8/MS and 6 years of experience in planning and scheduling product development in very compressed timelines    Strong program management skills including identification of critical paths and de-risking a project by having redundancies   Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills  A positive, can-do attitude  Preferred Qualifications:  Basic understanding of RF design  

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
