Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The incumbent is responsible for managing assigned statewide capital improvement projects and sustain, modernization, and restoration projects on behalf of the Nevada Department of the Military. The incumbent will perform duties including project development, schematic design through permitting/bid documents, construction from advertising through construction and project closeout. Tasks will include but are not limited to preparation of work programs; participation in the design process; preparation of bid documents, specification & project estimates; developing consultant Requests for Proposals; and consultant selection and consultant contract management. Two years of the experience required for licensure must have included coordinating major construction projects and/or capital improvement programs involving the construction of public buildings, office complexes, and other structures.
