Permanent Placement Title: Project Manager Compensation: $140K to $165K commensurate with experience, Plus Bonus & Benefits Location: East of Houston Company Description: Our client's specialty synthetic wax segment produces specialty polyethylene and poly alpha olefin waxes and provides custom processing services. The specialty polyethylene waxes are used in markets from paints and inks to adhesives, coatings, and PVC lubricants. The highly specialized synthetic poly alpha olefin waxes are used in applications such as toner in printers and as additives for candles providing rigidity and retention of fragrances. These waxes are sold in solid form as pastilles or, for large adhesive companies, in bulk liquid form. Position Description: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing complex chemical manufacturing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, budget constraints, and project timelines, while managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with various stakeholders across the development and production process. Responsibilities: Project Planning and Initiation:
+ Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables. Developing detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Identifying and managing project risks and contingencies. Selecting and assembling project teams with relevant chemical engineering expertise.
Execution and Monitoring:
+ Managing project progress, tracking key metrics, and reporting to stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the project. Monitoring project budget and making necessary adjustments to stay within constraints. Identifying and resolving project issues, coordinating with relevant departments to address challenges.
Communication and Collaboration:
+ Facilitating clear communication between project team members, stakeholders, and senior management. Managing stakeholder expectations and addressing concerns effectively. Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory teams to ensure project alignment.
Technical Expertise:
+ Understanding chemical processes, reaction mechanisms, and equipment operations. Applying knowledge of chemical engineering principles to project planning and execution. Staying updated on industry trends and new technologies related to chemical manufacturing.
Project Closure:
+ Conducting post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Documenting project results and creating comprehensive project reports. Handing over completed projects to operations teams for successful implementation.
Qualifications:
+ 3-5 years of project management experience required.
+ PMP is preferred but not required
+ Proven experience in project management within the chemical industry
+ Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
+ Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage complex projects with tight deadlines
