Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. Position Overview
The Project Manager leads the planning, coordination and implementation of initiatives/projects for the assigned function to drive increased productivity and efficiencies for the team and for Paylocity’s internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities
• Partners with Senior Leadership and other key stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for the function. For those with a Learning & Development focus this would include performance support systems, LMS, scheduling tools and reporting systems.
• Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables for specific projects, as assigned.
• Develops and manages full scale project plans.
• Responsible for coordinating complex initiatives and projects from initiation to successful completion.
• Develops, tracks and maintains project plans and project deliverables and communicates on project milestones and progress.
• Identifies opportunities to overcome obstacles for successful project completion and maintains the project scopes, schedules and resources.
• Assists the department managers in creating documentation, plans, etc. and maintains that documentation on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinates project meetings with internal and cross-functional teams, generates meeting materials and produces post-meeting deliverables.
• Works with the management team to identify/mitigate project risks and participates in the creation of risk contingency plans.
• Plans and sets project goals and milestones with the team and clearly defines requirements and develops targets accordingly.
• Identifies required resources and the schedule for the implementation of the project or initiative.
• Detects, tracks and solves project issues effectively.
• Helps manage cross-functional roadblocks/conflicts as it relates to the successful completion of the projects.
• Recognizes areas for internal improvement and works with management to develop plans for implementing them.
• Acts as a shared service to the Learning & Development team for the scheduling and ongoing monitoring of client trainings while ensuring client needs are met and resources are fully leveraged.
• Identifies technology solutions to meet the business needs and serves as a liaison to Development, IT and other business partners.
• Drives operational initiatives in support of department and organizational goals.
• Develops, drives and enhances vendor relationships to meet the needs of the clients and learning organization. Proactively addresses challenges on an ongoing basis.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of practical project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience working with large teams on projects that are deadline-driven
• Experience mentoring and/or developing others.
• Highly organized and able to multi-task
• Exceptional communication skills
• Strong leadership skills – must be able to work confidently and effectively with multiple departments and levels within the company
• Excellent presentation and customer service skills
• Strong technical aptitude to quickly learn new technologies/internal software systems and identify user applications
• Experience within a customer service focused organization
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment a strong asset
• Experience working with Survey and LMS technologies (if assigned to the Learning & Development function) preferred
Physical requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously

The pay range for this position is $61,300 - $92,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for a full range of benefits outlined here.
