GovCIO is seeking an energetic, motivated, and dedicated Intern Project Manager (PjM) with exceptional communication and writing skills to work alongside our Deployed Intelligence Communication Element (DICE) Project Management Team. The Intern PjM will help with one or more projects that a DICE PM is working on, allowing opportunities to gain exposure, and understanding of Project Management methodologies in a federal government environment. The ideal candidate will be on active duty within 180 days of their separation date and have their command’s approval. This position will be located in Hampton, Va and will be a within the United States as a hybrid position.
ResponsibilitiesCreates integrated project plans for contract deliverables and new products in development projects. Manages a project team comprised of a multidisciplinary staff. Reviews, manages and controls status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with team members and line managers. Generally reports to a Program Manager.
Manages the direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.Defines requirements and plans project lifecycle deployment.Supervises professional and technical support personnel performing in their regular disciplines.Schedules tasks and coordinates with various team members to accomplish the results.Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking, analysis and reporting.Collaborate with team members to determine the best practices for project executionAssist PMs with ensuring project requirements, standards, and documentation are followed Assist PMs to ensure projects are in scope, on schedule, and within budgetAssist PMs to ensure adequate resources are assigned and aligned with core service deliveryProvide support to ensure compliance with all contractual commitments defined in the latest Technical Direction Letter (TDL)Follow established procedures for submitting changes requests for network or systems changesproject documentation is accurate and up-to-dateAssist PMs with developing project briefings for senior military and civilian leadersEagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a dynamic environmentParticipate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve project efficiencyPrepare meeting agendas, take notes, and follow-up on action items, as neededPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsHigh School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI 3+ years of IT Project Management experienceAbility to work independently and within a team environment3+ years managing teams of six or moreAbility to host meetings with Microsoft Teams collaboration tools
