Key Responsibilities:
PROGRAMME PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Ensure quality design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project interventions in alignment with accepted donor and WVMs standards.Ensure completion and submission of quality, timely reports to the responsible Technical Programme Manager (T365), North/Centre Zonal Associate Director and Support Office as per required standards. Provide overall leadership and management in creating operational plans.Ensure capacity building of partners and project staffPROJECT ADMINISTRATION
Provide oversight on logistics and administration to the project
NETWORKING AND COLLABORATION
Network and develop partnerships with others NGOs, local Government officials, local Churches and community leaders for the projectRepresent World Vision Malawi in strategic external meetings for the projectCoordinate with senior program officer (Grants Acquisition and Management) and relevant TPs in resource mobilization initiatives for the projectPromote and strengthen the advocacy related initiatives for the projectBUDGET MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Provide leadership in roject staff in budgeting and planning processes and reviews.Monitoring budget expenditure against planned activities and take appropriate measures.Ensure capacity building of district partners and staff in project financial management.Review ProjectField Financial Reports regularly and provide required support. Ensure that recommendations from audit reports and audit findings are implemented within the stipulated period.Ensure cost effective utilization of resources.PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Manage the project team; define expectations, provide leadership and technical support needed and evaluate direct reports regularlyEnsure recruitment, orientation and promotion of staff as appropriate.Establish annual performance and development goals for staffensure availability of appropriate development opportunities.Handling of grievances and discipline matters in accordance with WV set procedures.Model high standards of personal Christian leadership through lifestyle and work relationships and provide spiritual guidance to staff on the vision, mission and WV core valuesENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT
Ensure project staff are well informed and comply with WV policies, guidelines and standards in project delivery.Ensure security and safety of assets and staff in all the project districtsIdentification of and mitigation of risksMaster’s degree in International Development, Comparative Education, Business Administration, Development Studies, Strategic Management, Rural Development, Project Management or equivalent qualifications
5 years demonstrated experience in project and financial management including designing, monitoring and evaluated. 3 years with knowledge of, and/or proven experience in managing similar position at management level. Experience in working independently with discretion, tact, patience and diplomacy. Good interpersonal skills A clean driver’s license Demonstrated ability in supervision Good planning and organizational skills Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff - related to work environment needs Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public Demonstrated leadership and team building Committed to WVI values Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring stakeholder buy in
