Summary of Position
The duties and responsibilities of this position are to design, draw and maintain plans, maps, and construction drawings pertaining to the operations of the Facilities Management Division.
Minimum Required Education
Associates Degree or a Certificate of Completion in Computer Aided Drafting ( CAD ) and Design from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum Required Experience
Five (5) year of full time facilities, water system or construction related experience. Experience with Computer-Aided Drafting and Design software. One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be capable of using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting to develop floor plans, update construction drawings, and develop minor construction plans.
• Must have good customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Be able to read and write English
• Self-motivated and a team player
• Must be able to comprehend oral and written instructions
• Must be able to competently perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
• Must be able to obtain a class C water license and backflow license within 2 years of hire date.
• Must have good analytical skills (planning), technical skills (construction methodologies, reading blueprints and drawings, technical specifications), time management skills (scheduling), presentation skills, problem solving skills and mathematical skills
• Ability to learn about and provide water system oversite
