SummaryThe Project Manager is a key role, responsible for coordinating all activities within the Building Inspection Department, including project documentation management, communication with clients, field inspectors, engineers, and various municipalities. This position will be responsible for supervising all permitting and plan review activity in the department, ensuring that all required reports and documents are compiled, updated, and maintained for a complete Certificate of Compliance package upon project completion. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where both collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Physical Demands and Work Environment- Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. This job will be based in the selected job posting location.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement standardized processes for processing permits and plan reviewMaintain seamless communication with clients, owners, contractors, and stakeholders regarding the opening and closing of projectsAttend preconstruction and on-site meetings with clients and municipalities to ensure complianceObtain documents from clients to facilitate the permit application processObtain all required approvals for permits and act as the primary liaison between the company, client, and each municipalityPrepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards that have jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvalsReview plans issued out of the department for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracyCollaborate with external consultants to coordinate paperwork and applications as necessarySubmit, distribute, and file paperwork and enter data for various permits, such as building, standard plans, plan changes, and closeout documentsMaintain all company files relating to permit applications, approvals, licenses, issued permits, and closeout documentsFoster a strong working relationship with various municipalities to ensure timely permit processingCoordinate project activities and billing with Project Coordinators and/or Administrative Assistants and/or Office ManagerRegular attendance is requiredFollows safety proceduresOther duties may be assignedRequired Qualifications:Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria), may or may not be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the roleAbility to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)Experience in permitting and plan review processes,Knowledge of local building codes and regulationsBN license requiredExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiencyProficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) productsAbility to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clientsComputer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reportsMathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsReasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram formOther duties may be assigned Who We Are:   UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
