Project Manager

Role description: 

The Project Manager is responsible for project planning, budget creation, and the safe execution of deliverables in a cost-effective and timely manner. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for coordination and implementation of major Ardagh Glass capital projects through the direction of internal and external resources 

Make decisions on technical issues at the administrative level relating to project development and implementation which impact capital and operating costs 

Provide cross-functional leadership through the influence of a matrix team (this role does not have direct reports) 

Support the vertical start-up of production following rebuilds 

Make recommendations to Ardagh Glass Packaging - North America (AGP-NA) management on projects for all AGP-NA manufacturing facilities 

Provide direction and manage resources for review of plant projects, engineering assistance, and troubleshooting as needed 

Adhere to and enforce all local health and safety regulations and policies 

 

Minimum skills / qualifications:  

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field 

Ten (10) years of project or program management experience in an industrial environment 

Ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects at the same time 

Demonstrated experience using and implementing project management tools and best practices 

Experience with technical problem solving, knowledge of multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, environmental, cold end, etc) 

Excellent up, down, and lateral communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to engage with leadership and project steering teams to drive key project decisions 

Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills with agility to handle changing priorities 

Works well with others and can facilitate discussions to reach consensus 

Self-starter capable of forming and leading in a matrix organization comprised of team members from engineering, operations, procurement, finance, and outside contractors 

Ability to travel 50%

 

Preferred skills / qualifications:  

Master's degree in engineering or a related field 

Prior glass experience
