We are currently seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in engineering and project management to oversee and lead our projects in Taranaki, Manawatu and Wellington. The role is based in Bell Block, New Plymouth and travel will be required.
This role involves management of refurbishment projects, cost estimation, programming, cost tracking, forecasting, purchasing, contract management, management of project resources, environmental management, quality assurance, project financial management, project administration and ensuring site safety whilst always adhering to SRG policies and procedures. Project Manager will regularly liaise with relevant SRG personnel including site staff and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive and lead the award and execution of projects through planning/management, project controls and financial/commercial management Ensure appropriate HSEQ plans are in place to manage workplace hazards and risks Supervise and direct site personnel to meet contract specifications and quality requirements Confirm and communicate project deliverables, develop a delivery management plan & manage project controls Manage the interface between the engineering and maintenance teams to maintain compliance with the specifications, schedules, and contract Identify key areas of variance from the estimate/cost plan Conduct regular reviews of project budgets to ensure accurate revenue, cash flow and profit/loss forecasting Issue accurate and timely progress claims Provide detailed monthly reports to the Regional Manager Develop project schedules to optimise manning levels and timely completion of contracted works Clear, consistent, and professional communication in all internal and external interactionsThe successful applicant will ideally have:
Previous experience in a similar industry/role Relevant project management experience (min 10 years post grad) A degree or diploma relevant professional qualification in engineering, preferably a BE Civil or BE Mechanical Minimum 10 years working for a contractor Must already have the right to work in NZ Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong IT skills and knowledge Current NZ driver’s license with no restrictions Experience with Procore and Primavera P6 scheduling would be advantageous No restrictions on availability, and be able to work extended hours and travel within the region scoping and delivering packages of work
