The ReVITAlization (RVZ) Internal Planning Resource & Portfolio Management Project Manager (IPRPM PM) will be responsible for providing project management of a project that will develop and implement future-state processes associated with VITA’s internal planning (all levels), resource management and work portfolio management and for supporting VITA’s current work planning process through the transition to the future state.
This is not an IT project but a business project that is a component of the larger VITA RVZ Program. Any IT project that may be approved for development will be managed by a separate Technical PM.
The IPR&PM PM is responsible for: developing the project charter; planning all aspects of the project in accordance with the Program Charter; project status reporting; resource, budget, risk, issue and change management for the project; integration with RVZ Program component projects and ensuring compliance with RVZ Program Management Plans.
-Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools.-Must be PMP certified or a qualified Commonwealth of Virginia Project Manager.-Must have experience with planning at the strategic, tactical and operational levels. -Prior experience establishing a portfolio management function strongly preferred.-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience preferred. -Experience with business process design and redesign preferred. -Demonstrated ability: to analyze issues and develop solutions and recommendations for appropriate action; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to prepare project documentation; to manage a matrixed team; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships. -Ability to work with multiple and diverse stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and consensus on plans, policies, and initiatives at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
