Project Manager

Actalent is seeking an experienced Project Manager with electric utility experience to join a local Tampa utility's Energy Delivery Project Management team, supporting Distribution, Transmission, and Substation projects. This individual will plan, monitor, and manage internal projects from initiation through completion and work cross-functionally and collaboratively with business and technical team members- both within and outside of the business unit, to receive input from and provide updates to affected stakeholders. This role involves long-term strategic planning and short-term capital project plans to meet strategic and operational objectives.

ResponsibilitiesWork cross-functionally to receive input and provide updates to stakeholders.Manage and participate in long-term strategic planning and short-term capital project plans.Participate in project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management.Assist in the development of project plans to define and sequence activities, estimate tasks and dependencies, and build the comprehensive plan to achieve project objectives.Facilitate the execution of the project plan, continually monitor progress, identify and manage execution risks, and drive issue resolution.Manage and forecast internal resources, time tracking, and capabilities needed to deliver on goals and initiatives.Ensure accuracy of project charges and internal time reporting, report variances, and provide financial forecasts.Monitor project budgets, create budget forecasts, and perform variance analyses.Manage contractor and consultant/vendor payment scheduling, payment validation, and processing.Communicate general understanding of core business processes of the customer service cycle and develop documentation of process, system, and data flows as appropriate.Demonstrate strong customer experience business acumen in the leadership of projects and initiatives.Anticipate, meet, and exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively, making customer issues a priority.Build flexible plans to accommodate a shift in priorities if customer issues or production business support is required.Represent the Customer Experience team on projects and initiatives, working across various corporate entities and affiliates.Essential SkillsProject management experience in the electric utility industry.Pre-construction project management required.Experience in Engineering, Construction management, Project coordination, Primavera, MS Project, estimation, cost control, project controls, distribution, transmission line, and substation construction.Proficient knowledge of project management and portfolio analyses.Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize complex projects.Strong collaboration qualities, including excellent oral and written communication skills and team-building skills.Strong relationship-building skills at all levels of the organization.Proficient use of MS Project and advanced Excel knowledge.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, MIS, Engineering, or associated discipline from an accredited institution (In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, additional years of experience may be considered).Minimum of 2 years of professional-level experience managing complex projects or programs.

Preferences

Experience managing complex projects or programs in Customer Service business processes at a regulated utility.Project Management Professional certification.Project Management knowledge in a Customer Experience utility environment.Knowledge of Agile project management and Agile project delivery methods.Ability to work within P6 scheduling software.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00
