Remote Project Manager Position Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with 5-8+ years of experience in the architecture field. This role involves a combination of field work, site visits in the Midwest market, and occasional travel. The successful candidate will manage projects and small teams, work on CAD CDs, oversee construction administration, and coordinate with contractors. This position requires a strong background in AutoCAD and a thorough understanding of commercial and retail projects. Responsibilities + Manage projects and small teams on a project-by-project basis. + Conduct field work and site visits, traveling locally by car and occasionally by air. + Produce AutoCAD work for 20-25% of weekly hours. + Participate in production work, construction administration, OAC meetings, and client-facing activities. + Oversee current teams and coordinate with contractors. + Work on CAD construction documents for half of the day and process shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs for the other half. + Handle site visits for construction administration and maintain client contact. + Coordinate details and finishes, particularly for interior alteration projects, office build-outs, and retail projects. Essential Skills + 5-8+ years of experience managing projects in an architecture firm. + Proficient in AutoCAD. + Experience working on prototypical projects, retail build-outs, and renovation commercial projects. + Bachelor's degree in Architecture. + Knowledge of construction documents and drawings, interior alterations, framing details, wall partitions, ADA requirements, and building codes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with commercial/prototypical projects (e.g., Chase, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Illinois Tool Works). + Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with remote teams. + Capability to thrive in a smaller office environment, handle multiple tasks, and adapt to different projects and duties as required. Work Environment This role is based on a standard 40-hour work week, with flexible start and finish times based on travel and personal schedules. The office size is 15, with a focus on promoting from within, mentoring, and developing employees. While this role involves remote work, candidates must be local to Chicago for meetings, site visits, and quarterly meetings.
