Introduction:
Boeing Defense UK (BDUK) is looking for a Project Manager - Forward and Service for the TLCS-2 (Through Life Customer Support) programme based at either RAF Odiham or Middle Wallop.
About the role:
The project manager will manage programme cost, schedule and technical performance to meet Service Project Manager SOW and requirements. Maintain productive communications and relationships with all teams, TLCS-2 Programme Management and functional management. Support the TLCS-2 Programme Manager with programme reporting.
Responsibilities:
Ensure delivery of programme services that meet contract requirements.Maximize the potential for successful programme/project execution and growth by identifying risks and opportunities and devising, managing and monitoring the associated mitigation and realization plans and actions.Support the Forward Operations Managers to ensure programme performance to plan.Champion continuous improvement within Forward and the Services.Ensure Forward Leads participation in TLCS-2 programme operating rhythm.Manage core contract and Additional Tasks, as directed by the Programme Manager.The Forward and Service Project Manager also has responsibility for the site management at RAF Odiham for those elements of which Boeing are responsible for.The ideal candidate will already be familiar with a wide range of specialized process tools, and materials, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint and Boeing or industry recognised systems to manage risks, issues & opportunities, contracts, change processing and estimating.Within the role you will be able to gain understanding and apply your experience in the following:
Demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards)Identifying key stakeholder objectives and requirements specific to the project, including Customer and Supplier dependenciesDeveloping solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovationFacilitating or leading others in negotiations involving major project parameters such as deliverable definition and performance objectives (e.g., cost, schedule, quality)Developing project plans and defining deliverables that meet identified requirements, and Customer expectationsIdentifying and managing project risks, issues and opportunitiesManaging all assigned resources including people, facilities, budgets and schedules to meet performance requirements and commitmentsReporting project status and performance metrics to program leadership team and CustomerWorking with the Customer to proactively identify additional opportunities, and ways to improve levels of serviceIdentifying opportunities to grow the business through on-contract growth and contributing to development of the business unit strategyEnsuring project team member responsibilities, accountability and authority are clearly documented and understood.Ensuring assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and provide appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.Providing input of team member performance to management, where appropriateEstablishing and maintaining good communications and relationships with project and functional organisations, including senior staff and line management and with Customer counterpartsHolding project team responsible for a Go4Zero safety culture, implementing new processes where requiredPromoting a ‘Help Needed’ culture, where appropriately requesting help is encouraged and those providing help are held accountable. Apply industry standards and any available data source for best practices, lessons learned, historical and forecast data to perform trend, earned value and variance analyses to create a baseline project planPreferred Qualifications:
Experience/knowledge of responsibilities & tasks performed by various engineering disciplinesExperience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiativesTechnical, written and verbal communication skillsStrong communication and leadership skillsEffectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at all organization levelsDemonstrated leadership for driving issue resolution and mitigating technical riskEmployer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
