Job Description

Job Overview
As a Project Manager, you will primarily manage marine or coastal projects. You will collaborate with other departments of the Japan branch and various Fugro companies overseas to execute projects. Additionally, you will coordinate between clients, ship personnel, and project teams. Projects range from small to large scale, lasting from a few weeks to several years, and you may be required to perform tasks beyond those listed above depending on the situation.


Job Description
•    Manage and coordinate the process from preparation to completion and evaluation of marine or coastal surveys according to Fugro Group’s project management regulations.
•    Coordinate with teams handling bids, operations, survey vessels, and technology.
•    Plan surveys and ensure mutual agreement on survey specifications and deliverables with clients.
•    Responsible for creating and submitting survey implementation plans, including quality control, safety and health management, and emergency response plans.
•    Communicate survey specifications and requirements within the project team.
•    Manage project budgets and expenditures, verify and approve invoices, and recover costs from third parties as necessary.
•    Work according to Fugro’s QHSSE management system and foster a safety-conscious project team.
•    Organize project progress and related information to promptly issue invoices to clients.
•    Continuously improve project performance and maintain Fugro’s competitiveness for further development.
•    Ensure that experiences and lessons learned from projects are used as tools for learning and improvement.


Required Skills and Experience
•    University degree or higher
•    Experience in project management and coordination (clients, ship personnel, subcontractors)
•    Ability to communicate in English (conversation, email, document creation, and attendance)
•    Native-level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing, conversation)
•    Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint


Preferred Skills and Experience
•    Degree in science or engineering
•    Project management certification
•    TOEIC score of 860 or higher
•    Experience in offshore geotechnical surveys, geophysical surveys, or oceanographic surveys
•    Knowledge of bidding and contract negotiations
