Serves as a Project Manager for software implementations and post-implementation services management using project management and service management best practices. Provide hands-on project management leadership and support for multiple projects across the region in accordance with the strategic vision set forth by the region.
Specific Responsibilities:
Accountable for managing specific projects, from small to large scaleProvide project management guidance and direction to consultants and operational staff to support the PMO and Region initiatives Actively utilize, and provide assistance to others with, project management best practices that includes but are not limited to: Scope Management (change requests) Time Management (schedules) Cost Management (budget, costs, and pricing) Quality Management (strategy and testing) Communications Management (reporting and escalations) Risk/Issue Management Stakeholder Management Systems Development Lifecycle Actively utilize, and provide assistance to others with, service management best practices that includes but not limited to: Relationship ManagementChange ManagementService Desk ManagementIncident ManagementProblem ManagementService Level ManagementContinuous ImprovementWork with local managers to resolve resource constraints and build capacity in client teamsAbility to direct team members in a matrixed organizationProven ability to apply advanced problem-solving techniques (root cause analysis, alternatives, solutions)Proven ability to apply effective communication techniquesProven ability to identify gaps across projects and document strategy and recommendations to resolveEnsure projects meet or exceed objectivesAdvise and support strategic initiatives to develop and train consultants on best project management practicesPrepare internal and external high-level executive reports for managers and senior staffDevelop and deliver internal trainings as part of building project management capacity in client teams across the region, as requestedProvide after-hours support and travel, as requiredRequired Skills:
Strong analytical skills and ability to organize and plan work efficiently within set time limits and other constraintsAbility to effectively communicate and influence outcomes with clients, project teams and development staffStrong Microsoft Office applications skills (preferably with Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) Proficient in Project Management concepts, practices, and procedures
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (preference for focus on business administration and/or public policy)Project Management Certification (PMP)Knowledge of technological solutionsExperience within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), preferably within Education Technology domainReside in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or FloridaPreferred but not Required:
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certificationKnowledge of K-12 education technology solutionsEducation consulting experienceExperience with JiraExperience with post-implementation service management with a Service Desk teamSalary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Yearly.
Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below.
