Reporting to the RBHS Chief of Staff for Research, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of diverse projects relating to strategy implementation, monitoring, and assessment. This position requires an advanced skill set in project management in order to balance multiple projects, including some that are complex, multi-year phased initiatives. Projects could range from acute, short-term project needs to complex multi-year, high-profile projects. The position handles highly confidential and sensitive information daily.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Is responsible for the planning and execution of diverse projects relating to clinical strategy and operations, health affairs, and health education. This position will require an advanced skill set in project management, team building, and resource management. Projects could range from acute, short-term project needs to complex multi-year, high-profile projects. Formulates and communicates project objectives, budget, other resource requirements and timelines, including the development of project milestones and review points. Maintains a detailed schedule of all projects, coordinates assignments and necessary follow-up and closely monitors deadlines. Attention to detail, strong leadership, and ability to consistently meet deadlines are critical. Coordinates with and utilizes internal and external subject matter experts. Works closely with other members of the RBHS and broader Rutgers community for expertise and project input (for example, clinical and graduate medical education leadership, finance, HR). Supervises any project staff during the projects. Creates necessary dashboards, Gantt charts, and other tools to efficiently communicate project scope and progress to broad audiences including senior leadership and internal/external constituents. Assists in the development of strategic communication plans
to effectively communicate project vision, goals, and status updates. Regularly presents to leadership and users on project status updates, results, and course changes, as necessary. The position handles highly confidential and sensitive information daily. Ensures that all work and documentation meet the highest standards of the department and the project. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.
