POSITION SUMMARY:Provide overall management direction for existing projects and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area or type of project. DUTIES: + The project manager is responsible to manage and review estimates and assigned construction projects. + Mentor and train construction interns, project engineers, and field engineers and monitor their training and certification. + Maintain recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action. + Project, organize, and implement project budgets and work under contract. + Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues. + Monitor and control project to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget. + Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling. + Represent company in project meetings, initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities. + Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. + Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience. + Five years of progressive estimating and project management experience. + Experience in management and road construction materials. + Ability to organize all aspects of the project, including analyze financial information and foresee and resolve project conflicts. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. + Sitting: 50% of time + Standing: 50% of time + Driving: Position requires driving to jobsites, and Geneva Rock offices. Company vehicle provided. + Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. + Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects such as surveying equipment and other equipment as needed. + Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. + Working Conditions: 25% of time will be spent working outside in the elements.
