Reporting to the Conventional Island Area Manager or similar, the Project Manager has overall accountability for the progression of planning and readiness activities related to Darlington New Nuclear Conventional Island Mechanical works. Scope will include turbine-generator mechanical works including auxiliaries, conventional thermal heat exchangers including the condenser, and turbine building overhead crane.
This position provides leadership and alignment for all activities related to the assigned scope of work. This position is the primary point of contact to ensure a consistent, deliberate, and clear methodology is used for key decisions and advancement of deliverables in the scope of work.

**Responsibilities**
• Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-IPD team, and client-facing interactions. Create the context that promotes this and other values that are required to make the project successful
• Ensure the delivery of all its scope in accordance with safety standards, on time, on budget and compliant with the Contract
• Provide regular and accurate progress updates to the Project Controls Manager, Conventional Island Project Controls and the client for reporting purposes
• The Project Manager is accountable for the cost & schedule adherence and management of threats and opportunities, including timely escalation
• Early identification of any threats to Project schedule or cost profile, or quality issues
• Constantly monitor for schedule and cost reduction opportunities across his scope of works. In particular, the Project Manager should be continuously looking for more efficient methods to perform the Work
• Work collaboratively with the stakeholders to ensure the Project requirements are met and represents the most efficient methods to deliver its Scope
• Driving compensatory actions related to adverse quality trends during the project
• As a member of the Project Leadership Team, participate in regular meetings and provides advice and support to the other members
• Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register. Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for the identification, mitigation and management of related risk items for his/her scopes
• Interfacing with the Client on requests for contract changes in close collaboration with the support team
• Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract
• The Project Manager is the SPOC for its scope for all the organization
• Ensure support and technical assistance are deployed to the Construction team during the construction phase on Site
• Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy. Endeavor the feedback to be in person wherever possible
**Qualifications**
• 5 - 10 years of related experience, ideally in Mechanical
• Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post-Secondary Degree.
• Rotating equipment experience.
• Equipment experience with a major energy vendor such as Alstom or Arabelle Solutions.
• Strong Team Collaboration Skills.
• Detail Oriented Approach, Focused on Quality.
