The Opportunity:

KBR is looking for a Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of multiple small to medium-sized projects, with a total contract value of up to $15 million. You will lead a team of up to 15 personnel, ensuring projects are delivered in line with KBR's policies and client expectations.

In this role, you’ll act as the primary point of contact for the customer, focusing on effective communication and ensuring client satisfaction. You will also support business development activities within the CS&M Program, driving new opportunities and project expansions.

A key responsibility will be scoping and delivering firm fixed-price elements within ILS and Training projects, collaborating closely with both KBR and customer teams. You will be expected to manage ‘outcomes-based’ projects, and an understanding of ASDEFCON contracts, Conditions of Contract, and Statements of Work is essential.

The key responsibilities of the role, but is not limited to: 

In collaboration with project and customer teams, design the delivery approach, including developing work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, and progress measurement systems.

Manage project scope, risk, and schedules, with a thorough understanding of ASDEFCON Contracts, Conditions of Contract, and Statements of Work.

Contribute to risk management frameworks for both customer-facing and internal KBR activities.

Support project teams with tracking and reporting on financials, schedules, risks, and benefits.

Work with the Senior Manager, ILS and Training, on workforce planning, resource management, and staff utilisation across multiple tasks.

Engage in business development activities to secure new work and opportunities previously unrecognised by KBR or the customer.

Assist in cost estimation, resource planning, delivery mechanisms, and the establishment of acceptance criteria for project deliverables.

Lead the delivery of project outcomes, ensuring appropriate pricing, scope alignment, and transitioning from time-and-materials to outcomes-based models where feasible.

Conduct Agile performance management for assigned team members and maintain personal accountability for project delivery.

Ensure health and safety considerations are addressed proactively, while also performing other duties as directed.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

Qualification/s in project management

Proven success in working with all levels of management

Strong client and staff engagement, relationship and communications skills.

CASG/Defence/Defence Industry or equivalent experience with knowledge of ASDEFCON Contracts

Ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance

Desirable:

Considerable project management or professional consulting experience.

Considerable experience in the identification, scoping and execution of firm fixed price services.

Defence Training, Integrated Logistics Support or Engineering experience

Engineering or other relevant technical qualifications and experience
