Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager

Reports to: VP of Engineering

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage scope of customer project which includes 2 to 30 line items of different equipment. Make site visits to customer location to kickoff a project as needed. Review Approval drawings with customer over conference call. Track project timeline milestones to help maintain project schedule. Plan and host customer Factory Acceptance Test visits. Negotiate change orders for project scope changes. Act as communication liaison between multiple Sales and Operations departments Attend installation or commissioning for project at customer site as needed. Issue project closure letter to customer. Provide technical support to customers with help from Engineering and Service departments. Assist other departments as required and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

Must show good initiative, organization and follow-through. Ability to be resourceful in looking for solutions to overcome any issue. Develop a detailed project plan to track progress. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Knowledge of food processing or related product lines and general knowledge of a custom machinery environment is a plus Ability to spend extended time in a Manufacturing environment reviewing equipment Must work well within a team and at the same time be able to make independent decisions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Educational background, preferably in the field of engineering for technical project managers. Solid technical background Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.  On occasion, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  Must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
