Project Manager

The Role

Seeking a Project Manager to lead a complex infrastructure project in Southeast Queensland involving critical structural stabilization and reinforcement works. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in managing projects that demand precise attention to structural integrity and environmental considerations, focusing on safety, efficiency, and innovative problem-solving.

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for driving the project from planning through to successful completion. Leading a team of highly skilled professionals, you will ensure the delivery of exceptional outcomes while meeting project objectives and exceeding client expectations.

SRG Global Civil division specializes in delivering complex engineering projects. Our focus typically includes:

Dam Strengthening / Upgrades including drilling, fabrication and installation of high-capacity post-tensioned ground anchors. Complex bridge construction techniques such as incremental launching, balanced cantilever construction and stay cable works. Design and construction of precast post-tensioned water retaining structures. Slipform construction in silos, building or dams.

SRG has been operating since the 1960’s and have been involved in numerous iconic infrastructure projects both domestically and globally. SRG also undertake multiple projects as the Principal Contractor for various clients across Australia including road and bridge construction, wharf remediation and other water and wastewater structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive and lead the completion of this project through construction planning/management, project controls and financial/commercial management. Liaise with key site personnel, both internal and external, to ensure all labour, materials and equipment are allocated and implemented for the effective delivery of the project. Ensure deliverables are compliant with the project specifications, budget and schedule. Manage subcontract procurement including negotiation and execution of subcontracts. Ensure appropriate appointment of labour and resources in all areas during the project. This includes selecting and recruiting suitable candidates. Prepare, track and report monthly performance including financial, program and HSET. Regularly review the financial performance of the project and provide innovative solutions to reduce cost or add value. Review the monthly cost reports and ensure all direct project costs are correctly allocated/coded. Ensure progress claims including variations are completed accurately within the required timeframes. Oversee contract management including identification of all commercial claims and entitlements, ensuring they are sought in the best interests of the company. Manage the procurement and maintenance of all site plant resources, including hired plant and equipment, in accordance with SRG procedures. Promote a strong commitment to SRG’s Zero Harm culture and high standard of work.

 

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Bachelor of Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification required Previous experience on complex infrastructure projects is essential Certificate IV in Project Management (desirable) Certificate III OHS or similar field (desirable) Strong communication and planning skills Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management Strong financial / commercial acumen. Ability to lead a team, influence key stakeholders and maintain strong relationships. Ability to solve complex problems using logical rationale. Willingness / ability to work in remote locations as may be required Hold a current Construction Induction Card (White Card). Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A Experience using Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and Jobpac are desirable.
