Fives Services Mzansi (FSM) delivers innovative and complex projects within engineering and manufacturing, spanning repairable and service categories. As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage projects across multiple sites, including Richards Bay and Mozambique. This role demands strategic oversight, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project delivery.
You will drive the execution of complex projects, managing timelines, resources, and budgets while fostering strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Regular travel to Mozambique and adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards are essential aspects of the role.
Primary Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with FSM’s strategic goals. The Project Manager will build strong client relationships, and oversee project performance, financial management, and risk mitigation.

Take ownership of project budgets, ensuring cost management and financial performance. Regularly track project expenditures and ensure timely invoicing and financial reconciliation. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.Operational Excellence:

Projects need to remain financially and technically viable, and need to be completed successfully. Projects impact company reputation, revenue, margins and operating costs, and thus form a key element of the business. Impacts to/from other departments need to be considered during the management of a project. For example warehouse operations, workshop facilities and tools, supply chain and finance. Resources from other departments might be used to plan, execute and hand over projects. Timeous planning is required with other teams in this regard.
Education & Qualifications
Required:
Advanced Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.Desirable:
ECSA registration, and affiliation with professional organizations (PMI, PMSA, SACPCMP).Relevant Experience
Required:
10+ years of experience managing large, multi-disciplinary projects in engineering or manufacturing. Proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar projects on time and within budget. Strong financial management and project risk mitigation skills. Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).Desirable:
Business development experience and successful identification of new project opportunities. Familiarity with global project management best practices (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma).
