Project Manager

This position contributes to REI’s success by employing strategic project leadership and project management principles to produce a portfolio of world class omni-channel marketing projects. The Project Manager collaborates across many disciplines within and outside of the organization to successfully manage and orchestrate the execution of a large volume of projects in support of brand, product and value campaigns as well as business programs and Customer Engine projects that ladder up to our annual marketing plan. To be successful, the ideal candidate is inclusive, self-motivated, definitive, and employs a business acumen and proven ability to guide and influence others (from peers to mid-level managers) to adapt to change and competing demands. As a highly operational partner, you are leading and orchestrating cross-functional teams through the project lifecycle including the planning, scheduling, monitoring, risk mitigation and issue resolution and reporting project status ensuring visibility of the team’s work to stakeholder management. You are a curious and natural problem solver adept at successfully leading and orchestrating a large volume of projects concurrently. This position contributes to department process improvement efforts to expand and mature the capabilities of the organization, drive role clarity, standardize workflows, and improve resource efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities and Qualifications Accountable for management of multiple concurrent business critical projects that range from simple to more complex in scope and scale. Manages internal and cross-divisional teams to execute projects against annual business initiatives and campaigns. Key project liaison between internal, cross-divisional, and third-party partners in the management of project timelines, dependencies, issue resolution, and asset delivery. Ensures accountability towards project milestones, provides clear direction to help the team navigate through ambiguity, and operates as the primary point of contact to resolve conflict, remove barriers, and address issues. Anticipate, monitor, track, and control project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests to mitigate impact and safeguard successful delivery. As needed, escalates to secure timely resolution. Accountable for omni-channel marketing project deliverables and maintaining current industry knowledge and best practices across a variety of digital and social platforms including website, mobile, email, digital advertising, print, and social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Primary point of contact on assigned projects accountable for the development and delivery of regular project status updates to the project team and key partners that includes detail on upcoming project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decision status, and any risks or issues. Schedules, facilitates, and recaps project meetings and decision-making discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to promote decision adherence and ensure the work is on brand, on strategy, observes channel best practices, meets technical/proofing/legal requirements. Ensures the on-time delivery of high quality, relevant, customer experiences that meet stated business priorities within approved scope and budget parameters. Develops a broad set of relationships and accountability for motivating and coordinating cross department/divisional project teams to deliver first in class omni-channel marketing from project scoping, planning to project delivery. Accountable for applying process innovation to project management approach and when necessary employing nontraditional methods and problem-solving skills to move work forward. Accountable for making decisions, often under pressure, with both internal and external partners that influence outcomes within key marketing deliverables. Support value-based decision-making. Understand the value and cost of the work we do and use this to drive decisions. Leverages “Workfront” work management tool daily to centrally house project requirements, schedules, documentation, and resource time tracking. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in addition to 3+ years working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed Marketing Operations PMO as a Project Manager. 5+ years’ demonstrated experience concurrently managing multiple small to medium size omni-channel marketing projects 5+ years working with creative teams including design, copy, production, and photo/video. Skilled in Microsoft Office business applications: Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. Proficient in video conferencing tools (Teams preferred), working knowledge of Adobe suite. Proven knowledge and application of project management principles and methodology Proficiency across all project phases (project planning, project requirements, scheduling, kick-offs, approvals, deliverables, issue resolution, monitoring, reporting etc.) Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of trends and capabilities related to omnichannel marketing – website, mobile, email, digital advertising, social media, print ads, signage, catalogs, earned media, influencer and affiliate marketing, content marketing.
